This hostel is run by a really super fun family. They are super kind and provide the type of hospitality that makes you feel like you’re at home.
The dorms are comfortable and cool. There is a great balcony outside and there are many local food options (Just ask for a free bike and explore) at great prices but, you have to find them.
My advice is to book a tour if you’re going to stay more than a few days.

Very pleased
Located right in the center, very convenient, enthusiastic staff to assist during your stay. Room price is very reasonable. If I have the opportunity to come to Ha Long again, I will definitely stay here. I will recommend my friends and relatives to come here.

Disastrous experience
Our stay at BBQ Hostel in Halong Bay was a nightmare. The staff sold us a day tour without revealing all the details, leaving us in the dark about the conditions. To top it off, she initially quoted one price and then demanded more money, resorting to threatening tactics when we refused. The tour itself was terrible - no water provided in scorching heat for 7 hours. To make matters worse, they tried canceling our Booking.com reservation after having stayed and payed.
On top of that, the rooms were small and lacked basic amenities like a desk or soap and water for 4 people. The location was far from the main tourism area, with a limited offer of nearby restaurants. Avoid this place.

First of all, We really sorry to hear that you were not enjoyed your stay here however we really do not understand why we got this bad thing from you. we just want to clearly explain all information for all other guests who are looking for their stay at our hostel. We understand that there is no thing perfect in this world however we tried our best to give our best service to all our guests
1. Regarding ha long boat tour.
- You arrived at our hostel at 11.30 AM after some question you said you want to do Ha Long boat tour . You said you just want to do kayaking tour however our boat tour have more activities like : visit to the biggest cave in Ha Long bay,visit to the most beautifull island in Ha Long bay and do kayaking then you said it was perfect.
- About the price of the tour.There was a mistake from our staff when she quoted and she had to pay for her mistake instead of charge more money from you why you said we threaten tactics or cheat you?
- Before you paid we informed again all information what is included in the tour, she said it included transportation, lunch,kayaking, entrance fee,insurance, boat, cave, island and the last sentence she said it included every thing , her opinion means it included all thing she reminded, she did not remind drinks were íncluded. she tried to tell you all the information details while the tour was being start in a few mins later. The tour provide drinks with fee,everyone was happy to pay for that except you. there is only one that problem during the tour but you said it was bad while the tour guide told me that you were enjoyed even you did kayaking overtime, so WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTATION ?
2. About the room: we wrote detail all information in discription of property and there is no change as the discription when you got the room, we are total responsible to all the information we posted . we also provide some bottles of water for free but it is not meaning we have to provide enough as your exigency. we always want to make satisfied customers however we are not philanthropist.
3. The check in time is 2 PM however you said you HAVE TO check in as soon as you arrive the hostel and before the tour, who was not polite person ? But we did it for free.
Finally, we alway want to give our best service however we are welcome the guests who are honest in their review. Before you put any review or bad comments to anybody life or any other business you should think of the good that they have treated you, think of the damage the they might receive after your review posted . We will still work hard and take good care of our customers and get the good feed back from them. We hope that you will always receive the kindness from the people that you meet.

I like it so much I extended my stay. This hospital is run by a really cool family and they provide you with wonderful personal service. The facility is clean, conveniently located and even the other guests we friendly and kind.

Our favorite host in Vietnam
My friend and myself travelled across Vietnam for 12 days and in terms of hosting, the hast (the women) was absolutely incredible and our favorite from all the places we’ve been.
We arrived late after 12 pm and she helped us with everything, she always smiled, answered our questions and have great recommendation.
He’s a chance that may not be so many travelers in the hostel, but we got lucky, we have formed a little group of 8 backpacker on the rooftop and did the boat trip all together.
We really have a fantastic memory of this place!
