Disastrous place

I have never seen so much dirt, the manager practically bothered her when you asked to see the room. It was a disgusting tapas restaurant, all the mattresses and everything except that it has a good location, after all it was a disaster, don't go! They do not handle debit or credit, only efvo

Ok

The hostel is average, it's cheap compared to the other hostels and this expensive city, doesn't have breakfast during the off season and the shower is not much hot in the winter. But the staff is friendly.

Basic. But can be better.

As far as people who stayed there and the people who manage this place, they are great. Friendly and helpful. The property, though, can do better. Instead of stuffing 10 beds (5 bunks) into a small room with a bathroom, please consider reducing the numbers of bed and provide comfort.
In summer, the prices of everything in Punta del Este go skyhigh. I feel that for the USD35 I paid for a dorm bed should be at least tasteful and comfortable. An air cond in the room perhaps? Instead of a small stand fan which pathetically has no space to place but just being left on one corner which blocked the door opening.
For breakfast, there were only while loaf of bread and a few biscuits. Is it so expensive to provide at least a jar of jam or their famous Dulce de Leche (I don't know what it is) instead of just placing a loaf of white bread on the counter? If not, even butter will do.
For location, it is very central. Short 3-min walking distance from the bus terminal, and truly 100 meter to the beach.
I know there are backpackers who can cramp up in the worst conditions, but paying that much for a dorm bed, I would expect a little respect. I have stayed in dorms that are half the price even on high season but they have put some thoughts about care and kindness into arranging the room for comfort.
What I have experienced there is unacceptable. I will no go back.

Good budget option

We paid $60 for a private fan room and bathroom for 3 people (2 single beds and a bunk bed). Room rating was a 3, but service was good. The woman who runs the place was kind and helpful with info for getting to Casapueblo as well as our next destination, Cabo Polonio. There was also complimentary coffee when we needed it in the afternoon.

Expect basic and you won't be disappointed.

It's one of the cheapest hostels during the summer season. Centrally located and a few minutes from the bus station.
But when I'm paying over US$ 20 per night, I would have hoped for a better breakfast than coffee and a biscuit. There is some powdered juice mix but you might as well drink sugared water.
The dorms are small and fit as many beds as possible.
Locks on downstairs toilet doors are all broken. This type of neglect doesn't happen overnight.
WiFi is shockingly slow and intermittent. If you blame this on the amount of people, why don't you upgrade, the majority of other hostels seem to cope.
I would not recommend this hostel unless you are on a really tight budget.
