Friendly, helpful staff, fairly good breakfast

Booked this hotel on the internet the day before arrival for about US$80. On arrival, we had been given a triple although we'd booked a double. Went down to explain just to avoid any nasty surprises in the morning when we came to pay the bill. Receptionist explained they'd saved us the triple for the price of a double. Extremely friendly male staff member at reception, couldn't do enough to help us with internet, providing ice, etc and didn't mind struggling with our poor command of Spanish. Same with female receptionist in the morning.
Ours was a spacious room with useful features such as power points, bar fridge, good desk space and plenty of room to move around. A very nice large & clean shower/toilet with reliable hot shower. This like many hotels in Uruguay seems to have an undergone a recent bathroom upgrade.
large windows looked onto a horrible view of rusted corrugated rooftops but it was quiet as located in the rear.
Unfortunately, some of the walls were plagued with mildew and paint peeling off the walls. I just don't know why they don't do something about this as it gave the room a depressing, dingy appearance when everything else was not bad at all. The room had air-con so it has airflow.
Breakfast was reasonable with the usual overly sugary cereals, fruit and toast. Plenty of pan de azucar of course. Huge large dining area (which make it look more like a furniture showroom than a hotel from the outside) and looks out onto the street through large glass windows. Didn't seem to have many guests staying and our only breakfast companion was a friendly local who spoke to us in English.
Nice secure undercover parking area via the back of the service station next door. This was probably one of the better value hotels we stayed in during our tour of Uruguay but I can't help thinking that $80 is a lot to charge for a room with mildew.

Good value for money

It is a hotel for travelers that has everything you need for a short stay, in a good location, close to the terminal and with garage. The rooms were clean and clean. With cable TV, refrigerator. Very correct breakfast: coffee, milk, yogurt, cereal, toast, cold meat, bills, cakes and fruit. The wifi has no good sign. For the value for money, I will come back when I have to stay in Paysandú for work.

Bring your own toilet paper!

As far as budget hotels go, I have stayed in worse; but the staff gave me no assitance at all. Even after several requests for toilet paper I never received any. I am glad I always carry an emergency roll with me. It's not an extremely attractive place, especially the bathroom, but the location is not far from the center of town and restaurants. The breakfast was only OK. The one good thing about this hotel is that the towels were the softest I have ever had in any hotel in South America. I won't be returning here.

Horrible

This hotel needs a remodel. The curtains and walls had mildew and the odor of old tobacco smoke lingers! The walls have plaster pieces hanging and in need of repair and a good paint job!!! Awful! Cathy
