We were greeted by a very nice lady when we arrived, and all of the staff on reception were lovely, despite our minimal Spanish. The rooms were clean and the original features were delightful. Nothing to complain about, we had a really nice stay.

For a 2 star hotel, it's good. The location for us was excellent as we wanted the proximity to Teatro Solis.
The photos are misleading and do not convey the real size and condition of the property. Our room, located on the 6th floor, smelled as freshly painted (the odor was so strong that it gave us a head ache and we had to leave the window open), and it is very small. A couple would have a real challenge finding space for opening 2 suitcases.
The bathroom is extremely dated, the bed was comfortable but rather small for 2 people (full size bed, by American standards).

Reasonable if you want to be in the old town

Very centrally located if you want to be in the old town this hotel while old and in need of some maintenance was very reasonably priced for Montevideo. The bed was comfy and we had a lovely outdoor roof terrace with seating.
Hotel is small and staff don’t speak any English but are friendly and do their best to assist.

Quaint place to stay.

An easy place to stay. Very walkable area with so many restaurants near by. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the balcony had an amazing view. Bed was comfortable, and the staff very helpful.

What a beautiful, charming building! You can certainly feel the history of this place. The elevator, the old keys, the furniture, the windows - simply WOW. I adored it.
The room had a wonderful terrace overlooking the city and it was a phenomenal location to explore Ciudad Vieja by day. Maria at the front desk made me a wonderful map to explore the city during my one day stay and she along with the rest of the staff were so friendly.
