Unable to stay in the hotel

I booked this hotel to stay for a few nights with my 3 year old son. We arrived at around 10 PM, but I never received any check in instructions or the pin code to enter the property. I tried to contact the hotel several times by calling two different phone numbers, but nobody answered. I also sent a message through Booking.com, but received no response.
As a result, we were unable to stay at the hotel and had to spend the night at a friend's house.
I also tried to contact Booking.com's customer service, but unfortunately they were unable to help at the time.
The following day, the hotel staff apologised and explained that a member of staff had lost the phone, which was why nobody could be reached. However, this is not an acceptable excuse, especially when travelling with a 3 year old child.
Overall, this was a very stressful experience, and I cannot recommend this hotel.

OK - ish

I booked for the room to be made up as a twin as it was for me & my adult son, but it was made up as double. As it happened my son was unable to stay so I didn't need ask to get it changed. Very hot, very noisy, close to road couldn't open the window for noise or security reasons. No net curtains so people walking by can look into room. Other residents very noisy and people in road very noisy during night. Felt vulnerable. Large hole/crack in ceiling of room. Another couple waiting outside a very long time (2 hours) to get access codes to get into property.
