A fairytale stay!

Had the most amazing stay here, it turned out I was the only person staying in the entire house and I literally felt like I had an experience of what it was like to be a lady of the house back in the day! I come down to breakfast and even though I was the only one staying, there was still full staff cooking breakfast. I woke up to the sound of nothing but the birds tweeting from my window and the house was warm and cosy. The housekeeper was so friendly and attentive and very friendly to have someone to speak to at breakfast. Had a perfect stay and number 5 is my favourite place to stay. Can’t wait to return!

Birthday Surprise

Had a great time. Fabulous food and accommodation was just as expected and in keeping with the surroundings. People have commented on the water pressure but it’s to be expected in this charming place. Just read a magazine and run the water and you’ll have a lovely warm bath. Hosts were lovely and we would definitely return. Don’t be put off by bad reviews. Food was delicious and you can’t beat the free entry into Stourhead- what a treat!

Lovely, historic inn

Lovely location within (but free to access) Stourhead site. Can get busy but staff helpful. Great beer selection and comprehensive menu - especially Sundays, with good service. There is accommodation too. Room to sit outside in pretty courtyard. Would go again if in area.

A lovely relaxing break

Wonderful spacious room. We found Adam and his team polite, friendly and attentive.
There are issues with water pressure in such an old building and the bed was a little firmer than we would have liked but the positives far outweighed any of these issues and we had a really lovely break. Will be booking again soon.
