Pulled out all the stops

I went here today, 20th August, a Thursday, on a first date, I'd booked a table for 2:30pm but didn't realise the kitchen closed at 2:30pm. My date was late and didn't Reive until just after 3pm. They pulled out all the stops! The chef waited even though it wasn't guaranteed my date would show up!! Really professional, understanding and the food was fantastic. Thank you guys for today you saved it for me and yes! She wants to see me again lol x

Treat away for my wife..... gone bad

When we arrived we were greeted very professionally, but we weren't told of the strange smell that comes with room 7..... we couldn't quite work out what it was initially as we went out for a walk more or less as soon as we arrived, even when we got back we went straight to dinner in the restaurant. The food here is nice, there were only 2 problems that need addressing (1) we weren't the only ones to have a mixed up order (2) when my wife asked for another drink only this time without ice & lemon it came with, she politely said she asked with without & the waitress duly took it away but also her original drink with 1/4 left in. Saying sorry, doesn't solve the problem. When we returned to the room the strange smell wasn't as strong but as we narrowed it to the bathroom I put the plugs in to see if that helped.... it did, in the morning on our way out I asked a staff member regarding to the smell, apparently it's well known it should be shut off as a room as its the drains backing up & the charge full price as well...... 1 other note when you ask for a chocolate sachet, best avoid as they treat cocoa powder as chocolate. The pub is best avoided if your given room 7, other than that more training needed in the restaurant.

A great find

Fish and chips Tuesday is a definite winner for me. Great value and beautifully cooked
Friendly host Nigel and staff happy to recommend a local ale - it just happened to be dizzy blonde - very apt
