Relaxing few days away at Five Acre Barn

We made a last minute decision to book afew days away with our dog, Nellie.
My wife found Five Acre Barn, situated in a quiet area with Aldeburgh and Thorpeness easily accessible. Some lovely local walks leading to the coast and we were given plenty of recommendations for places to visit and eat by David and Bruce.
The breakfast was delicious and more than set us up for the days to explore the area. I like a run pre breakfast and some quality 5-10k local routes/tracks in the area - a freshly ground coffee on my return was well received!
I stay at hotels and B&Bs regularly, Five Acre Barn had a great feel to it. the rooms were spotless and comfortable. We found on booking.com but will book direct with the hosts next time.
Highly recommended

Exceptional

Very peaceful and relaxing. Warm welcome from hosts, and dogs, with tea and cake. Stunning room with wonderful views of the garden. Great breakfast in the barn. Good instructions for a walk to Thorpeness - about 2 miles with no roads or traffic - bliss. The whole area is lovely and you can get buses from just outside to Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Saxmundham. We were sorry to leave!

Great find

Great location, very quiet and close to public footpaths at the end of the garden. Very Scandinavian atmosphere in all rooms. Rooms have everything you need, sitting area, coffee/tea facilities, patio which could do with some pruning to give it more space and not be sitting in the plants and our patio made out of wood, needs a few new planks. Breakfast was amazing and a lot to choose from a list the day before and freshly prepared for you. Everywhere very clean and good value for the money. Very warm and welcoming hosts. Would definitely return again.

A wonderful place to stay

When we arrived, we were greeted by Bruce who offered us tea and yummy homemade flapjacks, and we were made to feel completely at home. The setting is absolutely stunning—gorgeous garden views and beautifully decorated rooms. The breakfasts were delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We also appreciated the ‘honesty’ bar and recommendations from David of places to visit. Ruby and Lola were an added bonus!
If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with a personal touch, this is the perfect place and the next time we head east, we will definitely book to stay here again.

Already looking forward to our next visit.

This place is divinely relaxing (I have had the most restful sleep here in ages). Set in beautiful grounds, every room has stunning views of beautiful countryside. The internal decoration is brilliant, with great to attention to the smallest details. David (Bruce was away) has been great; helpful and friendly. It is a wonderful place to spend time -- we had an amazing time and very much hope to visit again before long.

Thanks so much Emmanuel. It was a pleasure having you all stay. So pleased to discover that I make better Hollandaise than Bruce (maybe I slightly misremembered that).... Looking forward to your return! David
