Weekend of wonders

Fantastic weekend retreat. Plenty of wonderful walks, pubs in close proximity and hosts couldn’t do enough for us! Not to mention the beautiful location and lodge! 10/10 would recommend!

Great location with wonderful cottages

This was our second time staying here, in a different cottage. As was the case with our first visit, this time we enjoyed the cottage very much. The Boxsteddle cottage is full of character. I think it is a converted old barn but done perfectly preserving that old barn vibe whilst being clean, modern. If it is build from scratch, then they also did a fabulous job.
The grounds are kept very well and I think there is almost nothing more to desire.
There is one free EV charging point which we could use a couple of the nights but found it busy one night.
Petersfield is close by and the very nice town of Winchester is not too far away either. During the night you can experience a wonderful sky with a lot of bright stars, which you will not see when living or staying in a city. Hearing the cows in the early morning reminds you about the attractive rural location.
Communication with the owner is great and swift. The process of arriving and leaving is very easy because of the lockbox with a key. As we arrived from The Netherlands, we did not have to worry about the opening times of the reception.
We would recommend this location to everyone. However, if you want to be at a walking distance from a village center with pubs and restaurants, skip this location. But for us, this location is perfect and we will certainly return here again.

short break

stayed here recently and was so nice a number of places to stay we were in a place called orchard and it was very well equipped with top of range appliances and white goods thr grounds are lovely and well cared for, also lots of parking and in warm weather they also have barbeques for you to use . but the most amazing thing is the bed, it is huge and very comfortable, there are also plenty of walks nearbyand a very nice booklet/folder giving lots of local places to visit

Disgusting toilet seat

This was a lovely barn in a beautiful setting. However the toilet seat in the main bedroom was unacceptable as it had two large cracks in it that had been there a while as they were warped with urine.
When I reported this the answer back was that the cleaner had just noticed it when we left.
Don’t insult your customers intelligence.

More than 5 star

We stayed in the Boxsteddle Barn unit and it was awesome. Spotlessly clean and cozy with quality furnishings and high end kitchen equipment. Even the Nespresso machine had a whole tray full of pods instead of the usual two you usually get in other establishments if your lucky. Fresh milk and local apple juice in fridge and yummy biscuits were supplied on our arrival. Very comfy bed and great sleep quality. Ample parking and set in beautiful surroundings with lots of local walks.
So good we stayed an extra night.
Very highly recommended.
