5 star reviews -for good reasons

A great hostess, luxurious bed and room, delicious breakfast, in a lovely turn of the century house.
All set on the edge of a charming Northumbrian village, a couple of miles from Alnwick and the sea.
A very pleasant village pub, within a quarter of a mile walk.
Just as several previous reviews stated: A hidden gem.
So don't miss it..

Comfortable, quiet and a great base for exploring.

Had a wonderful stay at this lovely location, set in a quiet village.
We stayed in the king room with garden view which had a very comfortable bed, a large ensuite bathroom with a powerful, hot shower over a stand over alone bath (all toiletries provided for free).
This is a very good location to explore the local area.
The pub in the village serves outstanding quality food (and good portion sizes).
Sally is a lovely host, providing a very tasty breakfast and great advice about the local area.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others

A wonderfully welcoming B&B with a perfect host

A wonderful B&B with Sally as the perfect host, it really is the hidden gem described in an earlier review. We stayed in the King room with garden view, the room was a great size with a walk in wardrobe providing lots of space for clothes, bags etc. In there was a fridge which was a really helpful addition, not least because of the good supply of milk stored ensuring you had plenty for teas/coffees. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided with some lovely biscuits included. The bed was really comfortable with lovely pillows and quilt, and an over blanket in the cupboard should it have been needed. We both enjoyed two-nights solid sleep given the quietness of the area and the comfort of the room. The bathroom was immaculate with handwash, hand/body lotion, shampoo and conditioner provided in case of forgotten toiletries. The shower was in the bath which was a high roll-top bath so you should bear that in mind when booking this room if you have any mobility concerns. It suited us perfectly but for some it may be little difficult to get in and out of. The other room in the B&B has a walk-in shower so worth checking that out when booking if this an issue.
Breakfast included a bowl of summer fruits, greek yoghurt with honey and granola, with a cooked breakfast of your choice, couldn't fault it.
Sally was so welcoming and chatted to us about our plans, giving us sound advice on some of our planned trips including a pre-visit recommendation to book a table for an evening meal at the local pub - Tankerville Arms - this worked really well as the food there was excellent and it was busy despite it being a Monday evening.
A true hidden gem for those wishing to visit the Northumberland coast, not far from the A1 and only 40 minutes from Lindisfarne - a place we would highly recommend and somewhere we certainly plan to visit again.

Strongly recommended

Real nice B&B with Sally as the perfect host. Nice, perfectly clean room with ensuite bathroom with a bath and an excellent new walk-in shower. This is a beautifull house with grand sitting room and breakfast is served in a lovely room with a lot of character.
Sally is a very nice person, she serves a very good breakfast and takes some time for a chat, just as we love it.
Would strongly recommend this great B&B.

Lovely Venue

We have stayed here a number of times now and we really love this place, the house itself is full of character, the village is really nice with a little pub worth visiting and also Sally the owner is always lovely.
The rooms are really nice with proper big baths and also a fridge which is really useful.
Sally is always very pleasant and always makes sure we’re looked after when we stay.
