Unacceptable Treatment Before We Even Entered
Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.
We came by motorcycle and were stopped at the gate by a security guard who told us we had to pay a $100 entry fee just to enter the hotel grounds and speak with someone at the front desk. We were confused because we could not find any information anywhere stating that Marriott charges an entry fee simply to enter the property.
As we tried to understand the situation, we watched multiple cars drive through the gate without any issues or questioning. Meanwhile, we were the only people being stopped and interrogated. It felt unfair and humiliating. We had done nothing wrong and were simply trying to visit the hotel like any other guest.
What upset me the most was the way we were treated. Instead of respectfully explaining the situation, the guard became argumentative and even called me a "drunkard" while I was questioning what seemed to be an unreasonable and unofficial fee. No guest should be spoken to that way, especially when they are calmly asking for clarification.
I left feeling angry, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. Marriott is an internationally respected brand, and I expected much better treatment from its staff. Whether this was a misunderstanding or the actions of one individual, the experience reflected very poorly on the hotel.
I hope management takes this review seriously and looks into what happened. Visitors should be treated with respect, and policies should be applied consistently to everyone, regardless of whether they arrive by car, motorcycle, or on foot.
Sadly, based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel to others.
