This is the main hotel in El Jem, it sort of feels like a replica of the Colosseum. The view from your room can be amazing (ask for room 21 if you can get it). The breakfast and the crepes each morning were good. The dinner menu could be improved but the food was fine. The pool is a nice touch on a hot day. It's close to the train and Louage station for easy transport.

A welcomed stay in El Jem rather than Sousse

Hotel Julius was such a pleasant and welcomed surprise for my stay in El Jem. Immediately upon arrival the front desk treated me withe respect and was so welcoming. I arrived early and they kindly offer to store my luggage as I wanted to be the first to the El Jem coliseum. Check-in was prompt an seamless. I also recieved a complimentary drink so needed after my long journey. My hotel experience in Tunis did not meet expectations, but Hotel Julius in El Jem did. My room and bathroom were spotless, and the bed so welcoming. The bedding was comfortable and I had the best nights sleep I had in Tunisia. The room had a view of the Roman Colosseum. Breakfast options were excellent and enjoyed fresh egg omelette prepared. I must call out and compliment the hotel Manager who seemed to smoothly run the hotel with emphasis on customer care and an exceeding customer expectations.
The only recommendation I have is that the in-room refrigerator was not maintained at a cool temperature. That would have been beneficial.

Smells like smoke, dirty linens on the bed

I came here on a group tour with a trip by Explore. Staff was friendly but you cannot escape the smell of smoke. Comforters were visibly stained in multiple places and it was pretty nasty. Wish I could leave but it was pre-booked with the tour for two nights! Would advise staying somewhere else.

Pretty good hotel in this area. Very low occupancy. Some maintenance problems such as broken hand shower holder.

Parking, staff, clean, breakfast, convenient location. If you are sensitive with smoking smell in the room it could bother you. They try the best with cleaning product to make it fine but…..
