A Dream Place with Exceptional Service
My now husband and I celebrated our wedding here in February 2026 and we couldn’t have made a better choice.
The Service:
• Hotel Staff: From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive to every detail, solution-oriented, and always ready to help. They also took care of the organization of family and friends accommodation.
• Wedding Planner: Karn was outstanding in every way. She was incredibly caring, we went through every detail together. She made everything possible, supported our guests, was present throughout the wedding day, helped me through every emotion, and ensured that everything ran perfectly.
The Place:
This hotel is truly exceptional. Because of our various appointments, we had the opportunity to stay in all room categories, including The Writer. Each room has a beautiful and unique design and is impeccably clean. The staff also make sure that the pools are always well maintained. In particular at The Writer, security staff ensure that outside people do not access the pool area, as it has direct stairs to the beach. I really appreciated that.
The Location:
The hotel is beachfront and only a five-minute walk from the main road. Despite this, the rooms are very quiet, and you do not hear any outside noise.
Food:
There is no buffet. Breakfast is à la carte (loved that!) , with flexible options for dish modifications. Some of our guests were vegan and vegetarian, and the staff were extremely accommodating. They also consistently checked for any allergies.
Additional Comments:
• I loved that this hotel has a story and that every detail has meaning. If you ask the staff, they are happy to explain.
• The team is extremely attentive, friendly, helpful, and proactive.
• This is not a large, crowded resort. With a limited number of rooms, the experience feels personal, peaceful, and truly special.
This hotel will always hold a special place in my heart and I can only highly recommend it.

Just book it
I’ve stayed here on numerous occasions and I love coming back. If it’s in your price range, you should do it. It’s not like other resorts. It’s not huge. The vibe is like Le Corbusier designed a Thai resort: white concrete, glass, modernist simplicity. At the front door is all the craziness of Chaweng: sweaty backpackers from across the globe, bars, massage joints, motor scooters, music, touts, t-shirt shops, supermarkets, tattoo parlours, fake Vuitton. Pass through the gate and you’re in a beautiful secluded garden with the (famously red) swimming pool and beach at the other end. The staff are absolutely wonderful, the bar and restaurant are terrific, and the clientele are generally a pleasant, laid back lot. I love its combination of urbanity and excitement, and elegant seclusion.

We stayed in a secret villa pool room. What an experience from the moment you walked through the secret door into the large villa with its 3.5metre bed and large bathroom and lounge area along with its own pool. What was fantastic about the library though was being able to relax via the pool on Cheweng Beach. A quiet oasis amongst the hustle of the islands busiest area. Breakfast and food were also excellent. Friendly staff and GR dat cocktail hour! Highly recommend a stay at The Library when in Koh Samui.

Returning to The Library in Ko Samui for the second time was a very emotional experience for me. The first time I stayed here was with my fiancé and it had been one of the most special trips we ever shared. Sadly, he has since passed away, and coming back to a place full of these memories was both difficult and comforting.
What made this stay truly special was the warmth of the team. The manager even recognized me again, which genuinely touched me and made me feel very welcome.
The hotel itself is still exceptional. The rooms are perfectly maintained—clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The peaceful atmosphere by the pool and the pristine beach create the perfect place to relax without any pressure.
Breakfast remains a highlight, with a fantastic à la carte selection and excellent quality.
Coming back here helped me reconnect with meaningful memories and find a sense of peace. This place is truly special, and I’m very grateful I returned.
