Many small problems
We booked via booking, com with specific reason that this hotel accepts credit card. I carried a United Membership credit card and have been using the same card throughout the entire stay in Taiwan (8 days) with no problem. But when I checked in to this hotel, the front desk claimed that they couldn't process my credit card and demanded cash payment. The total payment for 1 nights with 2 rooms with additional bed is almost NT$ 8000. I was fortunate that I carried sufficient cash; but this was not a good feeling and made me feel that they were pulling some kind of scam on me.
Walked into the room, immediately we found 2 roaches in Room 302 and the A/C didn't work. Later we found more roaches in Room 301 and the shower switch was broken.
The above mentioned small problems had added up and made us feel that the hotel didn't worth what we paid for.
Another negative part is the WiFi. Although the hotel claimed to offer free WiFi, there was literally no signal what so ever. The website information should say that "WiFi is available with unstable signal".
However, there are some positive points to be shared: There is a public parking space right across the hotel. Family Mart (similar to Seven-Eleven) is just 20 feet away. There are a few restaurants (local Tayal Tribal cuisine) in walking distance. If you have a car, there is a short drive down hill to the Wulai historical downtown and a few miles up to the Nei-Dong National Forest Recreational Area and other tourists attractions.
We stayed in Wuli for the purpose of birding and will visit Wuli in the future for the some purpose. However, we will not stay at this hotel in the future.
Very good location
