Lovingly run city hotel in prime location

The hotel is lovingly run by a family who also treat their employees superbly, so the atmosphere appears friendly and familiar.
Parking is free behind the hotel and the location is a few minutes walk from the old town and the promenade. This also makes it correspondingly quieter.
The room was well equipped, even with a bottle of water as a welcome greeting, mattress was comfortable, but unfortunately the room, due to the thin partitions, was quite noisy. I heard the neighborly calls from both adjoining rooms, so I could mostly only sleep with ear opax.
Breakfast was also lovingly prepared, all eggs had a painted laughing face every day. Such little things beautify quite a holiday.

Comfortable 1 night stay

Spotlessly clean. Free parking around the back, but limited spaces. Short walk down to lake shore. No AC and no lift, which we knew when we booked.
Good cold buffet breakfast.
Street can be noisy, due to traffic, not people. We both slept well.

Central

We stayed here near the end of October, and the hotel is quite central for the walk along the Bodensee.
It has about 6 parking spaces at the rear so it is first come gets a spot.
There is a rear door which opens directly from the car park into the hotel so it is easy to get you bags in, however there is no lift and no one offered to help with our bags despite my husband being disabled and it was an effort for me to carry our luggage up to the first floor where our room was- there are no ground floor rooms.
The room it's self was very spacious with a sofa and arm chair, windows on two sides and a large double bed. The bathroom was adequate, with plenty of storage space for bath bags etc. and it was all clean.
Breakfast was adequate, you could ask for cooked eggs etc, but we stuck with cereal, yoghurts and breads, there was a small amount of croissants too, plus fruit , so all satisfactory.
I asked the management for the location of nearby restaurants as theirs was closed, and they gave me a map and marked various things, we headed for the Renker Weinhouse which was only 5 minutes walk away and was a very snug typically German wine bar, full of locals and everyone so friendly.
The owners of the hotel did not speak English, but their son the chef and another chap did, the owners were quite dour, but I feel this is just a German trait perhaps as when we had correspondence on email they were most charming and welcoming.
Overall, it was okay for a night, but there are not many restaurants nearby and you would struggle if there for a week,

Good value, great location

The location is excellent, free parking available. Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms was reasonably sized and the bathroom excellent. The only things to complain about are the slightly mouldy smell in the room and very worn carpet.

Great 4 day stay!

This hotel has good rooms and recently renovated bathrooms. The size of the room you get really depends, some huge, some normal. I guess it's a pretty old building and they can't change it.
Pros:
+ Nice rooms, clean
+ Friendly staff/owner family
+ Great breakfast
+ Car park
+ Great location
+ Free wifi
Cons:
+ Can't think of anything serious
