Not satisfied

Stopped by while traveling. Roadside hotel. Booked the only room type available at the moment. Nice room, even if the pillows are very small and thin. The bathroom should be renovated; it is small and retro but clean. Very sad breakfast, little choice, especially regarding savory options.

For Switzerland in price/performance quite ok.

We stayed at the Hotel Grusch in transit. The hotel is close to the highway and therefore well located. We spontaneously got a room. Our two dogs were no problem here. The boss received us very friendly with a certain joke. The whole property has stopped at the end of the 70’s in terms of furnishings. I'm sure it was the smash here at the time. The room was very basic and clean. Breakfast was also reminiscent of the 70s. I didn't even know there was so much prepackaged food left. But it was enough to satisfy the morning hunger. So for the price, for Swiss standards ok.

The hotel has certainly seen better days

Unfortunately, we didn't like this hotel at all. The room was small and had very old-fashioned furnishings. The huge cupboard above the bed took up most of the room. Besides the bed, there were 2 wooden chairs, and that was it. Above the door was a shelf on which we put our suitcase. When we took it down again after 4 days, the dust from the last few years came right after it. Unfortunately, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
The breakfast was very limited and was only refilled on specific request, and unfortunately that was every morning.
The only positive point was the sufficient parking spaces on site.

Highly recommended for families with few demands and a small budget

We had a family celebration there. The food is Swiss, hearty. We had roast pork with potato medallions and a vegetable bouquet. Before that, a mixed salad. It was very good for me, as I can tolerate everything. But it was difficult for my wife. She is lactose intolerant and is also allergic to pork. We booked the night there because of the celebration, but the hotel did not accommodate prior requests such as lactose intolerance or no pork. We think that's a shame, as the service is very friendly, as are the staff at reception.
Conclusion: Recommended for people who can tolerate and enjoy hearty, Swiss, good, home-style cooking. The portions are large and the price is right. Not recommended for lactose intolerant, gluten-free, etc.

A pity

the food is good, the boss is a very nice person
but the waiters are bad.
The disorganized running around is one thing, but if you order something shortly after 10pm and then the clips are ripped off the tablecloth very rudely and you look at the clock demonstratively, that's a no go for me...a real shame
