Had an excellent stay. Very quiet and calm nights, didn’t see too many faces but the cleaner greeted me every morning! :)

DO NOT STAY HERE — Extremely unpleasant experience
We strongly discourage anyone from staying here. This was an incredibly unpleasant experience, and we would never return.
We stayed here as a female couple with our two-year-old child. Before arriving, the owner was friendly on the phone and seemed welcoming toward us as a family. He was also friendly the morning after our first night. Unfortunately, his attitude changed completely later that morning.
There was a misunderstanding with another guest regarding toothpaste in the shared bathroom. The guest's behavior became strange and aggressive, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. He was acting in a way that we found intimidating, and the situation was particularly unsettling because we were there with our young child.
After this incident, the owner's attitude toward us suddenly changed. He became extremely rude and told us that we were no longer welcome to stay another night because the guest, who intimidated us and who turned out to be familiar with the owner, had complained about our child's crying. We were given just 15 minutes to leave.
We understand that a crying child can be disturbing to other guests, and we are considerate of that. However, our child was only crying during the night because the room was extremely hot, even for a hot summer. The heat made it very difficult for our two-year-old to sleep comfortably. We were shocked that, rather than discussing the situation with us normally and respectfully, the owner suddenly treated us as though we were a problem and ordered us to leave.
The whole experience left us feeling unwelcome, stressed and unsafe. What started as a seemingly pleasant stay turned into an extremely upsetting experience because of the way the owner handled the situation and the behavior of the other guest.
We strongly discourage anyone from booking this accommodation. We would not recommend it to couples, families, or anyone looking for a comfortable, respectful and welcoming place to stay. We have never been treated this poorly as guests, and we would absolutely never stay here again.

Dirty B and B + Train Noise
Am Pavillon may be the worst B and B experience I have ever had. Between the musty, ancient towels, the old and perhaps not the cleanest sheets and the racist and deceptive owner - visitors to Bern should stay far away from Am Pavillon.
The house overlooks the main Bern train tracks but this isn't mentioned in any of their advertising. It was hot when we were there in June but if the windows were open, there was constant train noise. And there was no AC or fan, so with the windows closed the room was overwhelming stuffy.
The towels and sheet were gross and were so ragged that they clearly haven't been replaced in years.
But the worst part was dealing with the owner. He told us he refuses to rent to certain ethnic groups and just tells them that his B and B is full. This admission was shocking. We booked for 2 nights but he charged us for a third. While our plans did change, it was clear that we had only stayed two nights and still he charged us for three and refused to refund the money he charged my credit card without permission. He became abusive over email with me when I requested a refund for the night we were charged but did not stay.
Stay away from Am Pavillon B and B. Yes, it is less expensive than other places in Bern but it's not worth the savings.

Decent/affordable rooms. Terrible management
Clean rooms, great location for early or late night trains but next to the tracks so on a warm night (or if you want air) you feel as if you’re sleeping on the tracks themselves.
The owner was not around but became incredibly rude and downright abusive when I wrote a truthful review after my stay. He also tried to charge my credit card fraudulently claiming that we have to pay Anita check out fee, although the check out time or any fees involved were in ever stated in the contact/booking information.
Oh and do not leave any less than stellar reviews or you will suffer “consequences”.

Excellent value for money, pleasant, centrally located!
This is a very good value for money accommodation centrally located in Bern. Expect not a full-serviced hotel but a nice Bed (& breakfast, although full breakfast is not served). It's clean and pleasant, I had a big room (201), garden, kitchen, living and dining room were nice! Be aware of a few things: Bathrooms are shared between 3 rooms each floor, toilet is not separate. In 2nd floor you need to climb into an old fashioned bathtub to shower. This, and the fact that you will need to climb some stairs may make it inconvenient for some. And there is noise from the train station across the street; personally I don't dislike train sounds, but screeching noise made me plug my ears; windows had to be fully open in the hot summer night (no AC). But altogether, this is very worth the HALF price compared to a much smaller hotel room I had downtown the days before! I'd especially say it's a good choice for longer stays!
