Rural location close to the sea and big city, highly recommended.

A farm hotel rurally located but close to both big city (Malmö) and Skanör-Falsterbo etc.
A beautiful environment with nice rooms, we had a small one in Herb garden, there is bigger too.
In the evening after check-in there was a chance to buy food in the cafe, unfortunately they close 18, but we chose a delicious homemade cheese and tomato pie. Ängavallen is known for its ecological profile.
Breakfast in a nice, smaller dining room with plenty of dishes, felt so carefully and well prepared. The environment felt really cozy.
A farm hotel I would love to return to.

Unfriendly staff but great breakfast

To start with the positives,
The location is just beautiful.
It's very peaceful and even though there are numerous animals neither flies nor smells were an issue.
My room was very quiet and my husband and I slept well.
Breakfast was delicious, especially the milk and I usually don't even like milk. You could really tell the quality of the ingredients in the breakfast.
Unfortunately the older lady who worked at the front desk really seemed to hate her job and the existence of guests in particular. She was so unfriendly that my husband and I felt uncomfortable.
To be fair she also worked at the breakfast and seemed much more pleasant there. Still the check-in process sets the tone for the stay and it left a lot to be desired.
The room hadn't been deep cleaned in a long time and there were cobwebs and a lot of dust in general.
The bed and toilet were clean however.
All in all this place could easily be 4 stars or maybe even 5 with a few simple changes and even as is I can still recommend it as they are very ecologically minded and treat their animals well.

Beneath all criticism!

Had booked us on an animal safari with brunch with my daughter and two other families with children. Coming to the place then they have missed our booking but they were able to solve a table for us.
When we went to take food from the buffet everything was out of the buffet. One of the staff ran back and forth for and refill but the food ran out just as fast again. No bread either.
We were not asked what we wanted and drink and then I went to the hotel's breakfast buffet and get juice from there. I ask the waitress if we can have a drink and he says it includes tap water. A brunch usually includes some kind of juice, here it included tap water. A brunch for 295 SEK and that yesterday tap water?!
When you were going to fill your plate with food, the dishes at the buffet were gone again and you had to wait a good while until it was filled.
Asked where the desserts were then said they were filling up that buffet because everything ran out.
We did not receive any information about what time the staff showed the animals where there had been an opportunity for the children to pet the animals. So when we had walked around and looked at the animals on our own, like on any farm, we (finally) found a staff to ask then he said it was like once an hour. No info that was anywhere.
I also had to say if a sheep whose one leg was broken / off and then says the staff ”already thought that someone had solved that sheep because it broke the leg a while ago out in the pasture” whereupon I say that it suffers to have so much pain.
No, never again that we go there. Do not recommend!

A charming country estate retreat. Host was very welcoming. The family room with maisonette 2nd bedroom and spacious bathroom was great. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of delicious meats, presumably from the pigs that are farmed here too. Just beware the premium prices of imported beers.

Lovely architecture, lovely gardens, quality breakfast

Traditional architecture and very nice gardens. The room has very good beds and a good bathroom, and quality sofas. The breakfast, rather than on many options, is about high quality, which we liked - the place has own production of vegetables and meat. We were introduced to it by a very cheerful waitress.
The fairly large establishment is situated very close the main road E22 that brings from Malmö to Trelleborg, yet isolated enough not to hear noise from that. It is easy to reach Skanör and Falsterbo. We might understand just to some extent some of the negative ratings about the lack of warmth in the welcoming. This was about the first day, it was a bit difficult to get in touch with the personnel due to a malfunction of their phone then the reception was not particularly cheerful as you might expect nowadays - but absolutely not impolite. Otherwise, I found the appearance of the room very formal, sort of cold, missing some color - warmer ceiling light or a pendant would make the difference. Cleaning of the room could have been better, while the bathroom was impeccably clean, I found spots on the table and accumulated dust in the corner of a window. Nothing that made me upset anyway.
