Great! A lot for the kids.
Great! We stayed here during the midsummer weekend in connection with visits to Astrid Lindgren's world. We were amazed at how calm it was Midsummer Eve (nice because of small children) despite basically full at the campsite. Large playground for the children, nice swimming area with jetty. Ok service house, we stayed at the old service building and it was not pin new but absolutely nothing to complain about. Very friendly staff. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Astrid Lindgren's world.

A great campsite not far from Vimmerby.
At first glance, a rather small campsite, but that is misleading. The site is very large. And that is also one of its many advantages. Those who want to park directly by the lake and thus also near the swimming area, the restaurant, and the boat rental can do so in the lower area. The pitches directly by the lake are quite spacious, and you have a great view over the lake. However, you will also experience some of the hustle and bustle at the restaurant and reception. In the evenings, there is often live music there. When we were there, the owner sang until about 10 PM, and he was really good, and the people were having fun.
Those who prefer a quieter experience can simply rent a spot further up, a bit farther from the lake. There, you won't notice the hustle and bustle by the lake and can enjoy your peace. There are also pleasantly large spots available. Throughout the area, there are several service buildings, so the paths are never very long. The toilets and showers inside were very clean and in impeccable condition.
Everything, including the hot water in the shower, is included in the price.
Those who wish can also rent a small cabin and stay there, or they can rent a tent in the "glamping" section, with the appropriate amenities.
The on-site restaurant offers warm meals seven days a week until late in the evening, almost in the style of a pizzeria.
Of course, there is also a small shop to buy any missing supplies for the camping trip.
There is also a 24-hour self-service supermarket on the site. Access is only for guests of the campground, and payment is simply made with a credit card.
There is also plenty offered for the children. There is a very large playground where the little ones can let off steam, and of course, the swimming area also provides fun for young and old.
Especially noteworthy for us as dog owners is the dog area. This is located behind the swimming area. There, dogs can go into the water and have a round of swimming and playing. Especially great is the dog run. This is located on a slope, and the dog can literally romp over hill and dale. While you cannot throw balls there, the dog does not need to do that either, as he already has enough fun climbing.
The staff is very friendly and also helpful. They speak, like almost all Swedes, very good English.
All in all, an excellent campsite.

Vimmerby camping 2.0 a lot has happened in recent years
We were here in 2021 and then the rating was 3 out of 5 mostly because it was a little short on children activities. But since then wow the owners who we already thought were really nice have been in. The playground is really nice, the service houses renovated, glamping tents, great restaurant, troll trail for the kids and much more. We would like to say that this has almost become a miniature resort. Everything is available from the mini golf to the shop that is open 24/7!

Really nice campsite with room for small improvements
Really nice place. Rented a room with bunk beds and private bathroom in their main house.
Super clean and nice both room and bathroom. However, the mattresses in the bunk beds really need to be replaced. They were thin and incredibly soft/worn.
The spot lamp on the building outside should be rethinked if it can get a second place. Otherwise better darking curtains should be set up. The room is right up to the playground which gave noise from early morning to late evening.
Check in and out went easy. Friendly and welcoming staff.
The place is by a large bath lake. Nice area to walk in. Massive opportunities to rent various activities on site
