Amazing experience with personal service and magical views

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Kullaberg. The location is unbeatable with an incredible sea view, and our room with balcony was both cozy and charming in the old-fashioned style – almost a royal feeling.
The hotel is family-run, which really shows in the service. One of the owners drove us to Kullabergs vineyard and the owner’s father picked us up, completely free of charge – a big plus that gave a very personal and genuine feeling. The service throughout was exemplary – friendly, flexible and professional. That the room was also ready already on arrival (12.00 12) and that we got late check out without problems or markup was much appreciated.
The food was very good. For lunch we had a fish soup with an excellent, tasty background and generous fish and mussels, and classic meatballs with potato puree that were really well made. They also served delicious homemade bread with ramson butter, and the wine portions were generous with really good wines.
For dinner we had to choose three dishes, where the toast Skagen on homemade brioche bread was a real treat – fresh and perfectly balanced. The lamb fillet was fantastic, very tender and tasty, served with a delicious sauce and potato pastry. The tomato risotto was also magical, with the perfect core of the rice. Desserts were slightly fewer in supply, but what was available was of very high quality.
The waiters really impressed with their wine knowledge – close to sommelier level – which lifted the whole experience even further.
The restaurant also has a fantastic view with large windows facing the sea, which makes every meal extra special.
Breakfast was good with homemade bread and good sweets, although the range could be slightly larger.
Free parking is a big plus, and the only small downside was that the rooms are somewhat responsive. It might have been an idea to create a separate section for parents of young children – but it’s understandable given the age and charm of the house.
The only further improvement potential would have been to offer local wines by the glass – something that could easily have been solved with Coravin, for example.
In conclusion: an incredibly pleasant stay with fantastic service, very good food and a unique atmosphere. We are happy to come back here!

Craftsman's offer, worn and without comfort

We found the hotel through Hotel.com and fell for the fine pictures and text, with views of the mountains and a location very centrally, but the reality was a worn-out hotel, the room under all criticism, with the outlet hanging out of the wall and the light connector in the bathroom, fell off every time you pressed it.
It was so worn that we complained, but got the message that it was authentic. So you can't cover an old, worn-out, dull failure, under authentic. Carpet is not clean, nor are the decorative pillows for the bed.
breakfast was not worth writing home about. It was no table with chairs, nothing comfortable and a huge disappointment, we have paid too much for 3 nights and we are caught by the nose.
We will definitely not return

A flop

Unfortunately a very big disappointment when we visited the restaurant 2020 and were very satisfied (old owners).
It was now very small portions at expensive prices, the main courses had a size of starter.

Worn and in need of cleaning

Nice location down in the harbor. Unfortunately, the room was old and worn and very crowded. A little disappointed!

Nice staff but

Nice location and friendly staff. Our table reservation for dinner was missed, then we had to wait for 50 minutes for the food. Some of the dishes were also cold once we got the food in, but were fixed relatively quickly. Could not adjust the diet for allergies. Expensive. Nice but responsive room. The hotel has its charm but generally needs a renovation boost. Wifi did not work in our rooms. Good breakfast. Finally, our bed was unfortunately not clean made either which felt incredibly unfresh. However, this was quickly corrected when prompted. Unfortunately we are a bit disappointed with the hotel stay as a whole in relation to this but nice and helpful staff.
