Outstanding
The location is perfect as is the hotel, staff and accommodation.
One stands out is the breakfast; the breakfast is first class, what you'd expect to receive in a top class boutique hotel.
It has a real family feel to it, with a very relaxed atmosphere.
A lovely place to stay.

Safety and Privacy Concerns - a disappointing stay
First of all the positives:
. The room was quite clean
. The location was good being a short walk from the candy shops and about half an hour from the restaurants down by the water.
. On leaving we outlined some of our concerns. The lady we told, did say she was sorry we hadn’t enjoyed our stay.
However for us the negatives far out weighed these positives. The negatives included:
. There was no way the shower screen could be closed to enable it to seal properly which meant that water was on the floor. This was a major slip hazard and we nearly fell multiple times.
. The bathroom window faced a staircase leading to the carpark. The only covering on this window was a light lace (so see through) curtain. This meant that anytime we used the bathroom, we risked someone looking in at us. I find this totally unsatisfactory. I certainly wouldn’t have booked this hotel if I had known that I would not have privacy in the bathroom.
. The bathroom was also very small and poorly designed with no where to put anything. As to why you would put a full length mirror immediately in front of the toilet seat, I simply cannot comprehend.
. The room was way more cramped than we had expected. We had looked at the photos on the website but certainly hadn’t expected it to be as cramped as it was.
. Parking - we understood that parking was on a first come, first served basis so we booked it when we booked the hotel, so 9 months ahead. We were therefore very disappointed when we arrived and found that we had a park a long way from our room. It doesn’t seem to matter when you book but when you arrive.
. Breakfast Timing - when we arrived we were given only 2 times for breakfast - 7am or 10am. We were told that most other guests had arrived before us (we arrived about 5pm) so that was why only these 2 times were available. It would have been good to have had an option of choosing a time prior to arrival. It seems as though the hotel wanted us to forget about sightseeing and rush to the hotel so we could get a parking space close to the hotel and could choose our breakfast time!
. Breakfast - my breakfast was adequate, however, my husband described his as dreadful - he said the apple juice didn’t taste like apple juice and the bacon and egg was barely warm etc. The bread was not fresh and the service was quite slow. This would be OK if you wanted to sit around and have a very relaxed breakfast but we came to Scandinavia to see as much as possible not sit around for ages eating breakfast.
. Lighting in the room was quite poor so combined with the tight space made the room experience very poor.
. The hotel does not answer emails. I emalied prior to booking with questions about room size and despite sending this email twice, I never received a response. About 3 days prior to leaving Australia, I was notified by my bank that my credit card had been compromised and they were cancelling it. This was the card I had used to guarantee our booking. I emailed the hotel to advise them and again they never replied. I rung them once we arrived in Europe to sort this out.
. The TV had no free to air channels.
Overall, this was a very disappointing stay and certainly not worth anything like what we paid for it.
