While there were some positive aspects, there were also several issues that impacted my overall experience.
The room we selected was advertised as a two-bedroom, two-bathroom accommodation; however, it only had one bathroom, which was disappointing and misleading. Housekeeping was another challenge—cleaning was consistently scheduled between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, which coincided with the time we were getting ready for the day. If we were in the room during that time, the staff did not return later, resulting in missed cleanings.
Additionally, on the second day of our stay, we unfortunately found a cockroach in the room, which raised concerns about cleanliness. The bathroom itself also needs improvement: the toilet was not functioning properly most of the time, and the shower space was quite small and uncomfortable.
On a positive note, the staff were consistently helpful and kind, which we appreciated.
Overall, while the service from staff was commendable, the inaccuracies in the room listing, housekeeping schedule, and maintenance issues need to be addressed to improve the guest experience.

Definitely worth it to relax

Didn't stay at the hotel, but was there for a day swim with a day pass I had purchased at the reception. Costs USD 10.00.
Can definitely recommend it. Lovely and beautiful pool. Not big but that shouldn't spoil the fun.
Food is tasty and I can definitely recommend it.
On my next trip to Suriname I will definitely relax at Jacana again.

Bad sleep. Matrass too hard

The bed is just horrible. You will wake up with body pain. They joined 2 small bed to make 1 big bed .. that is just stupid because the bed arent even on the same level, one is higher than the other. How will you sleep good with your wife on a bed like that. You will definitely wake up with back pain..

Super busy hotel where they don't have the bar- the hot shower water- the massage parlor in order. Had booked two massages, it turned out not to have 'come through'. Have mail as proof. If you want to wait 20 minutes for a drink in the crowded terrace area, you're in the right place. Pool is tiny and only three sunbeds for hundreds of guests. Shower lukewarm water, even after 20 min and has mold. How much effort is it to spray an anti-fungal agent on it?! Unkind receptionist who clearly hates her job. All done with this terrible hotel in a bad location.
