Recommended if you like to be surrounded by nature. Nice view.

Rainforest edge is a precisely fitting name. Beautiful views, fantastic natural pool, lovely local food, very friendly staff. Nothing is too crazy for them, not even get a bottle of wine, 12 km away. Totally awesome. We had to get used to the basic rooms. This must have been up to us, too. We really had to get used to ‘living in the middle of nature’.

Peaceful and comfortable

We stayed two nights in this lovely hotel. The setting is incredibly peaceful, the rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. The natural spring water swimming pool is the icing on the cake.

Best Sri Lankan hotel experience on our whole trip!

This was the most charmging hotel of our Sri Lanka tour! We really loved it there. It’s situated in a beautiful place with stunning scenic views of the rainforesty surroundings! We enjoyed our rooms with open shower and al the wild flowers/ plants that could be seen in all of the hotel and especially the pool area with nature water pool. My kids were super enthousiastic about playing here with the sands and water and some pots given by the hotel manager! Rooms are spacious and decorated with nice wooden beds. We spotted some ants but that was no problem for us. Our kids found fishes, froggs and we spotted some beautiful birds! That’s part of the experience being near a rainforest. There’s no sounds of cars or other human related noise, only the wildlife which is very soothing noise when you are lying in bed. Cleanliness of the rooms was very good with enough (new) towels.
Staff is extremely helpful they carried al the bags up the hill, took everyone in a tuktuk. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant which was for a lower price than we experienced in most other hotels, the first breakfast was packed for on the go with some special things for our kids and we all enjoyed it during our Sinharaja rainforest trip. Second breakfast my kids were so happy with the hoppers they made.
For us it was the perfect rainforest edge experience with an unbeatable view!!

Flintstones

Very rustic rooms. Our group named it “Flintstones”. White paint would brighten the rooms very much. There is a nice pool that gets the water from a waterfall.
Food was good and the people very friendly.
However, several animals in the rooms - including palm large spiders and larger gekos and smaller animals.
Unclean very many old cobwebs, no air conditioning, no mosquito net, although the cracks were up to 2-3 cm in doors and leaking window slats.
Wifi very bad only in lobby.

Beautiful hotel

The design hotel is beautifully designed, as if it were made of clay. The view from the hotel and bathroom is incredibly beautiful. The natural pool is fed by water from a waterfall. The food was amazing. But the biggest compliment goes to the lovely staff, especially the manager Rohan. They are always there for you and are particularly attentive.
