Gardening leave

For my arrival at the isolated railway station at Mirissa, the manager arranged a tuktuk pick-up. Just as well, because it would have been a 2-mile walk to the hotel. It's set in a leavy garden with some tropical life (lizards and monkeys but unfortunately mosquitoes as well). The manager was helpful and knowledgeable, arranging besides my arrival a trip to the Handunugoda tea estate. I thought the room was a bit pricey compared with nearby places but comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good.

Recommended for hotel program by Nightmare

We arrived at this property with friends, we had 3 rooms, on our arrival we find 2 guys who barely understood English, we enter the “rooms” and it looked like a pigsty, linen and stained pillows, blood stains on the ground, water falling from the ceiling.... Etc etc...
Very kindly inform the 2 guys that the structure was not for us and that we will have left paying him on the night of the current day since we had entered the rooms, the 2 guys we put no contact with the Owner who was in Colombo, who tells us that he claims payment for all nights, we had the Reservation cn booking and the room was actually no longer cancelable, so we paid and left hoping for booking assistance at a later time, but the Owner declared to booking that we did not show up (no show) took the money and canceled the Reservation.
So if you want to stay in a place that looks like a pig barn this is the place..

Lovely place

Nice clean accommodations with great additional amenities such as fridge in room. Staff were very friendly and always close by. Very central to the beach and all the going’s on in Mirissa. Also saw lots of monkeys from our room which was very exciting.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed in DEC 2021 and originally booked via booking.com for 2 nights, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was large and airy with no issues. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety, definitely set us up for the day! We enjoyed the stay so much that we extended to 4 nights!
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, the proximity to the beach is great and the staff couldn't do anything more for us! (I wouldn't recognize the place from the previous review in April 2021)
Sri Lanka has been hit hard by the pandemic and needs more tourists to visit- this was one of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka

Do not waste your time and money here

Do not trust the pictures you see on bookings.com and on trip advisor about this place, for the amount you pay you can get a much better place to stay. The rooms are not clean , the bathrooms are not clean. Feels like you live in a cave! Most of the lights don't work, there are ants in the bathroom and mosquitoes all over the place! It's not a big property, the owners live next door and the place could get loud sometimes.
Staff were helpful but can be very annoying sometimes, please check the cancellation policies before hand, if you run into a emergency and want to cancel you might have to pay more than you think you should!
Overall a very disappointing place , check properly before you book, because there are other better places around than this.
The room are very dark and dingy during the night. Feels like you are living in a cave. The rooms have a moldy smell. The upstair rooms do not have private balconies. So you might have to be careful of your neighbors.
Overall please be careful when you book this place!
