Brilliant

Waking up to the stunning mountain and valley views from the balcony was unforgettable. The rooms are spacious, clean, and perfectly situated to soak in the natural beauty surrounding the property. It truly feels like a "cocoon" in the middle of nature.
Do not skip the breakfast! It’s a generous, authentic Sri Lankan spread that is both delicious and plentiful—the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring.

The location is stunning, with breathtaking views, and the hospitality is something you'd expect from a place charging $

We stayed here three weeks ago for a few days and was blown away by what this place offers for such a reasonable price. The entire property is spotless, and the level of service goes far beyond what you'd expect from a small hotel.
The manager, Mithula, truly made our trip unforgettable. He personally arranged rides for us, guided us to a hidden waterfall, and took us to a local tea factory so my 18-year-old could experience the beauty of real rainforests and tea plantations firsthand.
What impressed me most was that he never once pressured us for money—he simply wanted us to enjoy Ella and its surroundings. Of course, it's a business, and we made sure to show our appreciation, but his kindness and passion for sharing his hometown were genuine.
This is a small hotel with a big heart, run by staff who truly care about their guests. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views, and the hospitality is something you'd expect from a place charging $300 a night—not $30.
Thank you, Mithula, for giving us a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella. ❤️

Stay cool

Staying at Ayubo Ella was such a wonderful experience. The place is quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature, perfect for relaxing after exploring Ella. The balcony view was amazing, and I enjoyed every moment.
The room was very clean, comfortable, and well prepared. What I loved most was the hospitality—Mithula and the team were always ready to help, from arranging transport to sharing local tips. They made me feel more like a friend than a guest.
Breakfast was a real highlight—authentic Sri Lankan dishes, fresh and tasty, with so much variety. It gave me the perfect start to each day.
I highly recommend Ayubo Ella to anyone visiting this area. Great value, warm people, and unforgettable surroundings. I would love to stay here again!

Lovely host, location in middle of nature

Ayubo Ella is a very special place and definitely worth a recommendation. A small B&B, in the middle of nature with a stunning view into the garden, fields and hills around. Rooms are spacious and clean. The personnel is amazing - Mitube and his team are very nice and always helpful.
Breakfast was lovely - local (hoppers, Sri Lankan bread and pancakes, fruits etc.) and yummie, but they ask for your preferences anyway, to make sure :)
The location is a bit outside of center (hence in nature and quiet), so at dark you will need a tuk tuk to go back. But also here, Mitube is very helpful and can connect you to a very reliable driver (in our case Randy - we had his what’s app number and he was always available super fast when we texted him).
If you are looking for a cosy, quiet place in nature, great starting point for hiking, and a great host…we recommend to book Ayubo Ella!

A hotel just outside Ella town. Fairly modern . The wifi didn’t work . Takes about 20 minutes walk to Ella town. The owner is right next door and is helpful. There is also a breakfast option although the heading says bed and breakfast.
Wouldn’t stay again as I believe there are better stays available closer to the town.
