WORST PLACE EVER
This was the worst experience ever. We booked a double room with AC. When we settled down, we realised there were no towels, sheets, toiletpaper or soap. Communication went awful as they didnt really speak English. Eventually I had my friend, who speaks Singalese, call him to ask for a tuktuk around 6:30 to take us to the town to have dinner. He also arranged that the owner would bring us some breakfast in the early morning, as we had to go on a long hiking track
That day at 6:30pm we went outside to look for the tuktuk. Nobody was there, not the tuktuk, but also not the owner or any other people from this place. We were in the middle of nowhere and we couldn't go anywhere, because we couldn't walk in the dark in that area. Finally the son came back after an hour of waiting and my friend (on the phone) told him to arrange a tuktuk. Finally we could have some dinner and decided to take some biscuits and jam with us as well, in case the owner would neglect to bring us breakfast the next morning.
The night was terrible as well, the beds were rock hard, so we didnt sleep well at all. The next morning, no breakfast as we expected. Even thought the owner promised us (and affirmed this in Singalese with my friend). 7:50 am they knocked on our door and said the tuktuk was here. We didnt ask for one and we explained to him earlier that we would check out at 8am and our friend would pick is up. Then we got the bill for the night and all of a sudden we had to pay €20 instead of €6. The son (teenager, no English) tried to tell is that the room with AC was 20€. I proved him that we booked an AC room and that booking.com said it was only 6. When my friend arrived he spoke to him in his own language to explain. Finally the owner himself came, but he was stubborn and cranky. He was really unfriendly. Eventually we just paid him the money, because we had to take off and we didnt want this to ruin our holiday.
