Old, shabby, and tiny.
Tiny rooms, old bathroom, old elevator, old hallway carpet, stale smell... for what they charge per night, it's a rip-off.

Excellent option for spending a few days in Santander.
We spent a week at the NH Ciudad de Santander. The hotel has a perfect location next to Puertochico and the Paseo de Pereda. The standard room we booked was modern and very comfortable with good soundproofing from street noise and excellent air conditioning. Even though it only has 3 stars, everything worked better than in many higher-category hotels. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

I had a very disappointing experience.
I specifically booked and paid an additional €25 for an upgraded room, but upon arrival, I was given a standard room with separate beds—the most basic option listed on Expedia. This was already frustrating, as it did not match what I had paid for.
The situation became worse with the air conditioning, which was not functioning properly. Instead of cooling the room, it was mostly blowing hot air, making the environment very uncomfortable. As a result, I had no choice but to open the window.
The hotel is located in a very central area(this is why I choose it), with a bar and restaurant nearby. Since it was a Friday night, the noise levels were extremely high, and I was unable to rest at all.
Additionally, the overall maintenance condition of the hotel is far below the NH standard I am accustomed to, which made the experience even more disappointing.
I was only stopping over while traveling by car, hoping for a good night’s rest, but this turned into a complete nightmare. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations and was very disappointing.
