The only 2 cents I can add is I would prefer to have a microwave in the room. Also the reservation for the breakfast was an inconvenience to me.

Lovely palace with some original features but in need of care. A big company such as Sercotel needs to be responsible for maintaining these lovely buildings. Nice friendly staff but all a bit chaotic, the kitchen miles from the breakfast room for example. Plus side, rooms clean, quiet and in a good central location.

Memory of Orihuela in muted tones.

The hotel reflects the state of the city, devastated. This beautiful historic palace with remarkable architecture lives on its past, which must have been glorious. One can, like us perhaps, find a nostalgic and outdated charm there, but the interest stops there. The condition and decor of the place are declining, the breakfast is disastrous in quality and freshness, with a very limited choice. Industrial orange juice, in a country where the orange is emblematic, is unforgivable. Spacious and clean room, perfect bedding. In the evening, we snacked on a cramped terrace of the cafeteria, enjoying well-prepared and tasty pintxos. On that Friday in June, all the museums and other points of interest were closed. Even the tourist office no longer existed, a sad observation of a ghost town.

Disaster.

On Friday at 10:30 PM, we entered your café to have something for dinner and asked since it was empty, they told us that if we wanted, they would bring the drinks until 10:45 PM, and when we saw that they didn't ask us what we wanted for dinner, we told the waitress, and she said that the kitchen had been closed since 10:30 PM.
In summary, €5.50 for 2 drinks of beer and a water, and then run to find another place to have dinner.
When we protested, they blamed each other.
I don't think I will return.

What a fascinating hotel for one night stay in a town that is good to visit. Grandiose hall and stair with amazing ceiling. Fabulous hotel. Rooms are old and some parts need upgrading but it adds to the charm of this cost effective stay. Nice breakfast too. Had an incredible meal at the restaurant but was rushed between starter and main and barely finished I had the bill on my table. It was May Day so they wanted to go home. But would go back. Absolutely fab place to stay…
