Very bad

I do not recommend. Booked the hotel last minute due to limited availabilities in Madrid during that period, the experience was awful despite the good location: dirty rooms, rude staff and very noisy in the night.
There are way better hotels for the same price.

Good localization to do your DNI / Passport in Madrid!

Great location, within a 5 minute walk to 2 of the main metro lines, and a 10-15 minute walk to most of city's major attractions.
I needed to go to Madrid to do my DNI. This hostal is only 5 minutes from the Oficina De Tramitación Del DNI y Pasaporte Calle de la Luna, 17, 28004 Madrid, better location to wake up very early and be promptly at the queue, impossible!
It was a very simple place but the room was a good size, clean and even being central, you can not hear external noise, I managed to sleep well. You receive the keys at your check-in and have free access through the main door, which is next to a gym. You just need to run up the stairs before the automatic light goes off.
The guy who takes care of the place is very kind and helpful with the information in general. Good price for a short stay at the city.

Best location, a welcoming host, a clean place, yet a slight problem with the entry.

I've been there on October 2015 and wanted a place to sleep close to the main tourist attractions. it Is located dead in the center 10-20 minutes walk each direction.
There is a slight problem opening the front door (you had to fight with the key so it would open) so it was annoying.
There is no real common area like I hoped there would be.
The place was clean and comfy both the room and the shared bathroom yet there was a slight difficulty with the wi-fi being a bit far from my room.
The host spoke English well enough and was very kind.

Terrible value

We have stayed in many different hostels in Madrid. This is by far the worst value. We paid 62 euros for a double room less comfortable than the 30 euro room we had before (they were full or we would have stayed). The room was smallish, the bathroom was tiny, the wifi virtually inexistent. It looked more flophouse than hostel with metal folding beds, no box springs, thin lumpy mattresses, one sad overhead light and no outlets. They also tried to charge my card in advance on booking.com then cancelled our reservation. Would have been ok for half the price for a short budget stay, although I kept getting bug bites there, not sure what they were. The location is very good and central.

Horrible Experience

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during Nov 2012. They charged me 35 Euros per night. I had a horrible experience. Before I go into the details I want to say that I have stayed in other hotels for similar prices that were way better. So even if you are on a budget this hotel is not worth your money. You are better off paying an extra 5 euros per night and staying in another hotel.
First of all , from the inside the hotel was very depressing. It felt more like a one star hotel. The bed was uncomfertable, and dirty. I found hair on the bed sheets. Also the lights in the room were dim, and the TV was tiny and located on top of the bathroom door in a very akward location making it impossible to watch TV.
The neighborhood was extremely noisy. You can forget about sleeping during weekends as there are several bars close by and the noise is just incredible. The noise starts to fade away at around 5:00am in the morning and not before that.
The worst part is that there are prostitutes right in front of the hotel. And they are not even the young good looking ones. These are the 60 year old fat prostitutes, with cheap make up, that make you want to throw up just by looking at them.
All in all, I wouldnt recomend this hotel even to budget travelers.

Very good location
