I swear this place has so much potential...

This hotel is in a great location right in the heart of Madrid, and the well-equipped rooms give this property so much potential. Unfortunately, our overall experience was bogged down by a few frustrating service and maintenance drawbacks.
Things got off to a sluggish start with a super slow check-in process, despite there only being two guests ahead of us in line. Once inside, the intense 100 degree summer heat proved to be a real challenge for the building. The hotel, including the hallways felt quite warm. The room’s AC unit struggled to keep up at first, though closing the blinds against the hot Madrid sun eventually helped cool the space down but it took a few days.
Inside the apartment, we ran into a few minor functional headaches. The toilet handle was broken on one side, and on the other side, I had to manually pull the handle back up after flushing to prevent the toilet from running constantly.
The most taxing issue, however, was the elevators. They were consistently packed and incredibly slow. To make matters worse, one elevator went completely out of service during our stay, and the other stalled on occasion as well. Waiting on unreliable elevators or braving the stairs up to the 10th floor in 100 degree heat with warm hallways—was definitely a major downside.
All in all, the room amenities and location are incredible, but with a few crucial fixes to the air conditioning, plumbing, and elevators, this could be a truly wonderful place to stay.

Nice Aparthotel with a Crowded Central Location

My husband and I were planning to be in Madrid for four nights, our longest stay during our Iberian vacation and smack dab in the middle of it when we needed to do our laundry. We decided to look for an aparthotel with an in-room washing machine and found this nicely appointed accommodation right on the Gran Via. The central location turned out to be a plus and a minus. While it offered convenient proximity to the city's prime attractions, it was also heavily congested.
No matter what time of day it was, we constantly felt like salmon swimming upstream. We booked a One Bedroom Comfort Apartment with a queen bed for about $266 per night. It was fairly spacious with a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a large bathroom, and a huge dining table that doubled as our laundry drying space. A big plus for us was the 24/7 Carrefour Market, a two-story supermarket right around the corner in the same building.
An added perk was the rooftop bar exclusive to guests. We were the only ones up here one evening, and it offered great views of the immediate area, especially at night. The front desk staff was here 24/7, a plus compared to other aparthotels we've tried. One shortcoming related to the two available elevators. They were a bit frustrating because they were small and slow relative to the number of guests waiting on the main floor.

10/10 location but that’s about it

Outstanding locations but fails on some hygiene requirement - lift seems to not have been working for some time. And our aircon keep failing

Location location location - and stunning rooftop views

What a find this place was.
The location is amazing - right in the heart of the centre of Madrid. The check-in process was simple - a £300 deposit taken, so bear that in mind. Our room was on the 9th floor - as many people have noted, it was a bit of a nightmare having one of the main lifts out of action because you waited ages. One day, I got in the only working lift and something has broke in there, but the engineer said I could still go in it. He was fixing a panel inside - that fell off and cut his finger open right in front of me! A very unpleasant experience. We ended up having to use the other lifts at the opposite end of the corridor, but they went directly to the pool, which was good.
The apartment had no balcony, but it was clean and very spacious. Great bathroom and shower. A welcome pack that included washing up liquid, kitchen roll, bin bag. All came in handy. We had to make the sofa bed up ourselves - and in 9G, the sofa bed has definitely seen better days.
The rooftop area is great - the pool is hit and miss. One day, it would be absolutely rammed and you couldn't get anywhere near it, the next you'd have it to yourself. When it's busy, it's really quite unpleasant as people sunbathe on the artificial grass next to it, so you're walking over bodies to get in the pool.
The rooftop bar is brilliant - we went there for eclipse and there's a big bar menu to cater to every need. Friendly service and plenty of chairs, with a wonderful view. The rooftop view is so impressive - that's probably what would make me want to stay here again.
You had to pay for cleaning of your room, which I found crazy, so we were only staying two nights, it wasn't worth it. One handy thing to note - if your flight is late the next day, reception will look after your luggage and you can use the pool/gym facilities to shower and clean. We nearly did that, but ended up making other plans. Good to know though in case you needed that facility.
Would definitely return - we're always in Madrid, so we'll be back here soon.
