I enjoyed myself , all depends on the person and there individual needs

I stayed with my girlfriend in Bellevue Aquarius for 8 days (12th-20th) and for me I had a really nice time , met some really cool people (staff and other travellers)
Staff - all lovely , greated at reception on arrival and given everything we needed to know which was a big help , there was no limit for us for how many cocktails we could have in a day ( unlike some reviews say) when you sit down in the restaurant you almost instantly get asked if you would like a drink, and when you go back up for more food they clear your table pretty much instantly again.
Food - the food for me was nice , I am not picky and eat a lot of things so I didn’t have much problem with this, some food may of been undercooked or left out for too long, if I was to change anything they need more variety upon the dishes as there was meat in basically everything and if your vegan or veggie it isn’t a great choice other than salad and pudding.
Entertainment - big shout out to Claudio the entertainment man there, he was absolutely lovely and great at his job, putting together great pool side activities and karaoke at night times which were very funny
Location - absolutely great, the town itself has a 3-4 story shopping centre around a 10-15 min walk away which is nice and has shops like Zara, foot asalyum, river island, cafes and more
There is also a beach called playa chica which you eked to visit as it is amazing , loads fish swimming in the sea which you can clearly see and even better with goggles or snorkels , only downside is it is very busy, but worth it!!
Bugs - didn’t get bit once by a mosquito or see any cockroaches but they may of been because we were on the top floor and kept the drain plugs on the whole stay overnight , but we had friends who had 4-5 cockroaches who stayed on the bottom floor .
Gym - there’s a gym called powerhouse gym owned my Roberto who’s very nice and welcoming , the gym isn’t part of the hotel but it’s at the front entrance called powerhouse gym , very vintage gym and hot inside but cool

Very good for the money

I was really nervous to stay here due to being used to 5 star hotels and seeing some negative reviews however I am completely shocked. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bellevue Aquarius. The rooms were clean a bit outdated and in need of a refurb but the beds were comfy. The only major issue with the rooms is if you are on level 4 or 5 it is quite a walk to your room and involved a lot of stairs. Also, the keycards were very faulty to the point we had to go to reception on a daily basis sometimes twice a day to get them sorted. The pool area is your average blue sunbeds vibe. The pool itself is nice and quite deep. There are many many many missing and loose tiles on the pool and it needs a good refurb however it doesn’t really cause a issue because you can’t touch the floor anyway and the pool itself
Is still lovely. The food is really nice. It’s nothing fancy but it’s all tasty. When eating you get a drink bought to you and it is a buffet style. They switch up the hot options on a daily basis but have chicken nuggets burgers hotdogs and chips for those picky eaters. The staff are very lovely and attentive and can’t do any more for you. They are all very talkative and kind. The only negative things about the all inclusive is snacks are not included and the cocktails come from a vending machine they are still nice it would just be nice to have frozen ones. Also, on our last day we weren’t flying home until 19:30 and when we checked out at 12 you have to have your wrist band cut off and then you have to pay for your drinks until you leave we were allowed to have dinner but not and drinks. If you come to the hotel on your first day early you are not allowed the last dinner to be included only breakfast. We arrived at 00:30 which is why we were allowed dinner.
The entertainment has room for improvement however I do believe they are probably doing their best with the budget they’ve got. The breakfast is served 8-10 dinner 1-3 and tea is 7-9. Drinks are 10-11. The hotel also has self catering facilities in the rooms which consists of pots pans cutlery a stove top a toaster a microwave and an oven and mugs and glasses. The beach is a 10 minute walk away so are the shops and pubs there are a few pubs a bit closer to the hotel aswell. Overall the experience at this hotel was very good and I will definitely be returning. It is a good price it just needs a good refurb.

Not all bad, but there's a lot to improve

This is a strange one.
We spent a week here and came away with mixed feelings about the hotel. For the most part, the staff were pleasant when interacting with us. However, it was apparent that some members of staff simply couldn’t be bothered and seemed like they just wanted to collect their wage and go home. We all have days like that, but you shouldn’t make it obvious to guests.
We spent our Saturday night at the hotel thinking there would be some sort of entertainment, but unfortunately there was nothing on.
My wife and I ordered cocktails — a Piña Colada and a Sex on the Beach. The bartender poured additional spirits into both drinks, which we hadn’t asked for. Initially, I wasn’t sure whether he had poured vodka into the Piña Colada, as it should contain rum and the premixed cocktail already contained alcohol. After tasting it, it was clear vodka had been added.
When I went back to the bar and ordered another, I watched the bartender pour vodka into the Piña Colada again. I pointed out that it should contain rum rather than vodka, but he seemed confused, and I eventually had to point to the ingredients shown on the cocktail menu. He then put the drinks to the side and walked into the back, appearing unhappy, leaving another bartender to serve me.
Shortly afterwards, the same bartender — who had short black hair, wore a black shirt and seemed to work mainly in the evenings — walked around offering free food to other guests while completely bypassing my wife and me. Given what had just happened at the bar, this came across as deliberate. We didn’t react to it and simply carried on with our evening.
The amount of additional alcohol being poured into already premixed cocktails was also excessive and, in my opinion, unnecessary.
The food was a bit of a mixed bag. I’m the type of person who will usually eat whatever is put in front of me, but even I struggled at times to find something I wanted to eat.
One evening, there was what appeared to be rice pudding for dessert. When we went to try some, it looked like basmati rice sitting in a bath of milk with a vanilla pod in it. The rice appeared completely uncooked and was simply floating in the milk.
The pasta was also generally very plain and lacked flavour. Most evenings, we ended up heading into the Old Town to get something to eat instead. I’m not expecting gourmet food from an all-inclusive hotel, but I don’t think expecting food to have some flavour and be properly cooked is unreasonable. The black pudding was also sitting in garlic oil, which made it completely soggy and, for me, inedible.
The entertainer we saw also seemed to approach only certain guests about activities. Despite spending plenty of time around the pool, we were never approached or asked if we wanted to take part in anything.
There were positives. The hotel makes it clear that housekeeping isn't provided on certain days, but if you need fresh towels, reception will provide them. The reception staff were always helpful and pleasant. They quickly arranged a taxi for us to Rancho Texas, and whenever we had questions, they were happy to help.
Unfortunately, the hotel and rooms look tired, and the whole place could really do with some love and investment. I hope the staff who are doing a good job are recognised, while those who appear to have given up are either given the support they need or moved on.
We also had a few cockroaches in our room during the week and saw some around the pool area.
One thing I found interesting was that staff uniforms had BlueSea branding, while the hotel’s website shows O7 Hotels branding. This made me wonder whether the hotel is currently going through some sort of change in management or ownership.
If that is the case, I genuinely hope O7 Hotels invests in the Aquarius and brings it back to life, because the hotel does have potential. With investment, improvements to the food and entertainment, and more consistency from staff, it could be a great hotel again.
At the moment, though, it feels like a time capsule from the 2000s — the sort of hotel I probably would have been brought to as a kid and had an absolute ball in. There’s definitely something worth saving here; it just needs some much-needed attention.

Don’t knock it, til you’ve tried it

This is our 4th time staying at Belle View Aquarius, is it the Ritz? No! But it’s clean, has everything you need. It’s near the old harbour, we are out every day, it’s perfect for what we want it for. Plus nice and private you never feel overlooked when you’re on the balcony and we’ve stayed in 4 different apartments, over the years. Here’s where BVA excels, the staff are amazing, they will do anything to help and made our stay amazing. I even had problems with the WiFi one day when I needed to do a work zoom call and they found me a quiet spot with the strongest WiFi. They couldn’t have done any more for us. We love Bellevue because of this

Pleasant holiday....

Bellevue Aquarius, Puerto del Carmen – 5-Night Holiday Review ☀️
We stayed at the Bellevue Aquarius in Puerto del Carmen for 5 nights, travelling with 3 friends. We had two apartments with terraces.
Food
Breakfast was lovely! There was plenty of choice, including a Full English, breads, cereals, fruit, continental options with cheeses and meats, fruit juices, tea and coffee, and even cakes. No complaints at all about breakfast.
Lunch and dinner, however, were a different story . The food was very repetitive, there wasn't much choice and, unfortunately, a lot of it was stone cold. We actually ate out on 2 nights because there was nothing any of us fancied eating. This was definitely the biggest disappointment of the stay.
Bar
The drinks were absolutely fine, with good measures. The cocktails came from a machine rather than being freshly made, but they were actually okay and did the job!
Apartment
We had a first-floor apartment at pool level with a terrace and honestly, we couldn't fault the room.
It had been modernised, was spacious and had a kitchen and lounge area, along with two single beds. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
We also hired an air-conditioning unit from a local company. Lance delivered and collected it, and the unit was amazing — we genuinely couldn't have coped without it! There were also two ceiling fans, although they didn't do a huge amount.
Pool
The pool could definitely have been nicer. There were quite a few tiles missing, which unfortunately made it look a little dirty and tired.
That said, the pool itself was clean. The pool guy spent hours every morning cleaning and disinfecting it, and we used it every day without any issues. It served its purpose perfectly well.
☀️ Sunbeds
One thing I actually really liked was that the sunbeds are chained up until 10am.
Normally I'm not a fan of this sort of thing, but it meant I didn't have to get up at 6am to put a towel down! It was actually quite nice knowing nobody could reserve beds for hours before they were even using them.
There were also plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, so there was never an issue getting one.
Entertainment
The entertainment was absolutely shocking
Karaoke one night was actually hilarious, though, and we made lots of friends and had a great laugh. I didn't really see any other entertainment during our stay.
During the day, we joined in with a bit of beer pong!
Staff
The staff were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble.
The maids were lovely, and the bar staff and reception staff were brilliant. Everyone was friendly and helpful, which really made a difference to our stay.
⭐ Overall
We had a great holiday and definitely made the most of it, but there were some clear positives and negatives.
Best bits: the spacious modernised apartment, fantastic staff, breakfast, pool availability and the fact that we didn't have to fight for sunbeds.
Biggest disappointment: the lunch and evening food — the lack of choice and cold meals really let the hotel down.
Would we go back? Probably not for the food, maybe bed and breakfast - but we had such a laugh with our friends and met some lovely people, so the holiday itself was brilliant. Sometimes it's the people you're with that make the holiday! ❤️☀️
