Nice warm hotel

I stayed here for one night while walking the Camino Via de La Plata, its about 20 minutes along the road from the Camino and quite convenient.
The room was basic but warm with a fan heater as well as central heating and extra blankets if you needed them. There was a bar where you could get coffee orange juice and a range of sandwiches and food which was very welcome when I arrived.
There is a nice restaurant and the food is well cooked and reasonably priced. I enjoyed the " roca " whish was beef cooked on a hot stone at the table. It was popular with local people, I think I was the only tourist staying although because it is on the main route there were Spanish travellers. Despite being on the main road the hotel was quiet with not much traffic noise.

Rich but quite expensive

We went to have stew, the typical day.
The truth is that it was very good but from my point of view it is just cooked and the price seemed exaggerated to me. Every time that pork shoulder and pig's ear were missing... in a pork shoulder with turnip greens... well... no comments.
The desserts were also delicious and plentiful.
Very good service and very nice place.

Very regular and expensive food

We stayed on Sunday, August 18 and were very disappointed. We were a group of almost 30 people and they put us (all to share) a blizzard salad with tomato that was good, a salty and bad-tasting octopus, meat enriched with potatoes or rather potatoes with some piece of meat and finally a dessert (no choice) premade for everyone the same, all accompanied by 3 or 4 bottles of wine only red and a bread like a brick.

Very good meat

We had lunch here on a recent Saturday afternoon. The service was slow and indifferent. My wife had the octopus and I the mixed grill. The octopus was edible, not the worst we have had nor the best. My meat, on the other hand, was excellent. Nicely grilled with just the right amount of fat on the bone to give it a juicy taste. A meal for two set us back 30 euros, which I thought quite reasonable.

Restaurante.

Fuimos al restaurante y me pareció una comida buena y un precio asequible. Tomamos ensalada mixta muy abundante, un pulpo a la plancha muy bueno y una carne richada también buena, quizá a esta no le vendría mal un poco más de salsita. Los platos me parecieron abundantes. Nada que ver con algunas opiniones que veo escritas.
