Stop for lunch here. You can't miss it.

We stopped for lunch. What an excellent surprise! We were treated wonderfully and the food very good. Thank you so much! We'll be back. Beautiful views.

Attention and quality

I went to breakfast with my daughter and sister. Attention from amazing staff, more than attentive. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast was very nice and clean. Thanks for the attention and the nice attitude, you made me feel at home.

Pleasant Surprise

Stayed at this hostal for 2 nights on the 6th and 7th March. The place was unbelievingly clean and although there were no frills, the room was spacious and even had a fridge, t.v. and A/C. If I were to go to Gaucin again, this is the place I would stay in. The restaurant upstairs had been closed for a few months, though, so I cannot comment on the food. 1min in car from the hostal to the top of Gaucin, where we parked and had breakfast every day. One other bonus are the views from the window.

Good for an unassuming menu del dia

A review of the restaurant / bar, rather than the hostal. Having driven past on one day and walked past on another, we decided to try Hostal Brenaverde for a menu del dia before we left Gaucin, even though we knew nothing about it. We're glad we did. We got a friendly welcome from a helpful young waitress and she did all she could to explain what was on the menu. I had a very generous prawn cocktail (with fruit as well as salad) while my wife started with gazpacho. For main course she had cuttlefish "goujons" and I had large grilled pork escalopes, both with chips. A generous portion of cheesecake each rounded off a tasty and filling meal. Even with beers beforehand and coffees afterwards, there was still change out of a 20 euro note. The place may look a little like a truck stop, but the welcome was warm and the service attentive. It also seemed to attract plenty of custom both local and passing.

Below average food

We visited as a last minute recommendation from our villa owners but we found the food to be very ordinary at best. Perhaps it was a bad day in the kitchen as they did have a wedding on the same day but we could not recommend the restaurant. We had s variety of food from chicken, grandmas special pork, fillet beef (be aware that this is not fillet steak but rather a paper thin cut)vend a type of steak. All were not good. Nice staff but the food doesn't merit a visit
