Great Family Stay, But Facilities Need Some Attention
If you're considering La Marina Resort for a family holiday, this is our honest take after two stays. The swimming pool is fantastic, there's plenty to keep the kids entertained, and having the beach so close by- 10 min walk- makes it ideal for families. We'd happily recommend it on those points alone.
A few things worth knowing before you go: the toilet and shower facilities is looking quite outdated, with some door locks not working and a few doors damaged - a renovation would make a real difference here. The wifi could also do with an upgrade, so don't rely on it for anything important.
We'd also suggest the resort look into installing an automatic waste disposal station, like the ones from Camperclean or similar ones - now used at several campsites - it makes managing waste much less unpleasant. Drainage on the pitches is another area to watch, as we had issues with grey water overflow from blockages during our stay.
None of this stopped us from having a great time, and we'd go back for a third visit. Just worth going in with realistic expectations on the facilities side while enjoying everything else the resort has going for it.

Great stay during our Summer Holiday
We had a great stay during our summer holiday in Spain. We loved the pools and easy access to the beach. The super market was well equipped with everything you need.

It’s a no from us!
Irish couple and a baby staying for a week.
Would definitely not recommend. The food in the restaurants were horrible and some of them are only open a few days a week for a brief amount of time.
The taxi situation is a nightmare. As the resort is in the middle of no where there is absolutely no where to walk to and so taxis are a must! However because we had a baby, uber refused to take us as they could not supply a car seat. The only other taxi option is one that comes from Elche which is half an hour away as this is ‘their area’ meaning other taxis are not allowed to pick up in that area. These taxis are very expensive as the meter starts counting from when they leave Elche and also unreliable. We ended up being stranded out with a baby in the middle of the day with no way back because we couldn’t get a taxi anywhere and had to walk 30 minutes along a busy main road with a pram to get back. Absolute nightmare!
Because the food in the resort was so bad and we couldn’t get a taxi out anywhere, we ended up having to order uber eats back to the resort…the options were very limited and the delivered food was not good!
The resort used to have entertainment on every night. This is no longer the case. There was only entertainment on saturday night. The rest of the week we were bored to tears at night time trying to find something to do…no restaurants we could eat at, no atmosphere and no entertainment. There isn’t even a bar to go to at nighttime. There is a café that sells alcohol but that is all. We had so many nice outfits to wear at night time and hardly get wearing any of them because there was no where to go.
There is also a train that goes to the beach, but again, this only happens on Saturdays.
There was only 2 adults and a baby in the room so there was enough space for us and they were clean.
There wasnt too much noise around our bungalow thankfully so we all slept well.
We were very let down with our stay, mostly because of the lack of things to do at night. The resort really needs good nightly entertainment (even just a live acoustic singer for a bit of atmosphere), better restaurants and a bar to drink at nighttime.

Not good treatment
We have visited La Marina Resort for several years, but this time the experience has been so bad that we do not want to come back.
There has been a lot of noise from changing neighbors on the square. Several evenings the noise continued until around 2:00 p.m. We contacted the reception several times, but nothing was done about the problem. We just got to know that it is a family resort and that the Spanish go to bed late and therefore noises late in the evening.
In addition, there were dogs tied by the neighbor’s place, who groped most of the day, while the owners were away for up to 8 hours. This was also not addressed.
Upon check-in the staff asked how long we expected to stay. We replied that we were counting for 10-14 days, but did not know it exactly. There was a reservation and withdrawal payment for 14 days with a notice that we should only contact us if we left earlier.
As we wanted to leave 4 days in advance, we were told that the money had already been withdrawn and that they could not or would refund the last 4 days. The staff seemed completely indifferent to what had been agreed upon arrival.
After many years of visit, we are very disappointed with the treatment we have received this time. Unfortunately, the experience has been so negative that we will not return.
