A great stay in one of the best areas of the city.

I had a great experience in this hotel from many aspects but I would definitely highlight the attentiveness of the staff. Even in complicated siutations, they were focused in solving the problems, e. g.: getting maintenance for a power outage in the building that rarely happens. Onsite receptionist was also very helpful in case there was any requests and got good recommendations for nearby restaurants.
The hotel is located in a great place, surrounded with all the necessary businesses from laundry services to pharmacies, pizzerias to poke-bowl bars.
The room itself was in great condition and I liked that the housekeeping staff paid special attention to cleaning which is essential in Covid times.

Good location Noisy Guests

Hôtel is located in a good location in downtown Barcelona but some guests are quite noisy I am not unable to sleep in my deserved vacation. The doors and the water pipes are extremely noisy. None fridge in the room but a Spar supermarket next to it

We had a great stay here!

We stayed at the Hostal Medea for 2 nights really loved it there. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful and location is just about 15 minutes far from the famous "La Rambla" street. I would recommend the Hostal Medea to everyone who wants a great start in a low priced hotel in Barcelona!

Like a hotel

We stayed at this hostel for 6 nights and liked it very much: it is located in a great neighborhood and is close to Sagrada Famiglia, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila; its staff are extremely friendly and helpful; the rooms are clean; and it is family friendly. Although it does not, unfortunately, have a kitchen to cook or boil water, I would say it is more like a hotel than a typical hostel.

Lovely staff, big room & good location,

The hostel is well situated with some really nice little bars and restaurants within a short walking distance.
The staff were so lovely and really helpful - I even had a special request to store my daughter's medicine which had to be kept in the fridge and as there was no fridge at the hostel we stored it in the vending machine which worked perfectly. Also one of the staff so kindly took my cool bag home so that I had frozen ice packs on the day we went home to transport the medicine again. Lastly, our key card didn't work one evening but after phoning the hostel we were given a door code and when we got into the main building we were told how to access a spare card so the issue was resolved within about 5 minutes.
Additionally the room was decorated to congratulate us on our 2 year wedding anniversary which was such a sweet personal touch.
The room was a very good size - big enough to fit our very large travel cot as well as the large double bed and still move around the room.
I would definitely recommend this place to others as it was so reasonably priced and well situated with the nicest people working there!
