A little Haven!

I felt I needed to write a reveiw. My aunt (who lives in SA) and I (from England) have stayted here twice and looking to book again for March 2022. We have stayed in hotels and apartment and we found this to be our little haven of happiness. Adri is the lovely lady who cooks a delicious breakfast and cleans our rooms (with another lady). Yes it was looking a little shabby but that didn't put us of at all. We were told they were going to refurburbish all the rooms when we were there at our last visit (2020) due to the Pandemic we did not visit in 2021. The views are amazing and we were always made to feel welcome. When there was a water shortage they supplied bottled water (we never ran out) and nothing was too much trouble. The gardens were always kept nice and the pool clean, our rooms were lovely and cleaned daily. I can't wait to be there in March 2022 :) My last visit was March 2020 - this is not in the answer for "When did you travel"

Thieves!
No attemps to give me the refund!
i have contacted hotels.com who is constantly trying to contact the guesthouse who is refusing to answer any phone calls etc. I feel like they are stuggling and decided to steal from customers now....

hotel was great its the people you meet thats the problem

ha ha as i said the room was great the views were great the breakfast was great, but the people , heather d writes regularly here. when i meet her she had an unfortunate mouth that seemed to offend with every word, shes not from crawley england she is a ex southern rhodesian who trips to africa to relive her youth. im not surprised she got young zola dismissed she certainly has the ability to cause problems, the recorded coversation would have been done by audrey no doubt the manager, my experience with audrey would compare with heathers maybe tell her nothing, the friends coming and going are all organised by audrey and there helping services go well above any normal duties, ha ha, any way one staff member gone ie a. and heather banned and your in paradise, nice hotel

WHERE IS THE OWNER?

I believe that this a a true reflection of my lengthy at RAMSGATE GUEST HOUSE. I’ve stayed there many times over the passsed two years and sadly it’s going down hill, for a few nights you don’t notice but I was there for a while, the place is getting shabby, there is no proper management, There is a manager in place but there are different cousins, friends coming in and out , to welcome guests and do cleaning, you don’t know who is actually employed there, there are periods when there is no one there at all, guests arrive , blow the hooter and drive off. There is no health and safety when it comes to food preparation.
I had a private conversation with the manager about a staff member, i have since found out the conversation had been taped and used to to dismiss the staff member.
This is totally unethical
It’s so sad, it’s has the most spectacular views, where every day you can see whales and dolphins in the sea, that place should be bursting at the seams with guests.
At +R500 per night per person shame

Average experience

When we arrived we were not made to feel very welcome but non the less the room was fabulous..I was however not happy at the fact that on the second day our gate remote was not working and the steep driveway was difficult to manoeuvre out of taking into consideration where the parking is located. We wanted to stay another night but was told that the rooms was booked to someone else..we weren't even offered an alternate room even though online on booking.com it showed available rooms so overall it was not a wow experience and for what we got I feel the rooms were about over priced
