Excellent stay in Kigali
I had a wonderful stay at Flame Tree Village hotel in Kigali. The rooms are very nice, spacious, and clean, offering great comfort. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained, perfect for relaxing. The restaurant food is absolutely fabulous, with a good variety and great taste. The service from the staff was excellent—very professional, friendly, and always ready to help. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kigali, whether for business or leisure. I would definitely stay here again.

There could be better options in Kigali
Stopped at this accommodation as part of an organized trip. We arrived around dinner time due to a massive traffic jam in Kigali.
Negative points:
- Reception was closed and the staff at hand were not aware of our arrival.
- They placed us in one independent villa. Not sure about the others, but ours was in dire need of refurbishment.
- Shower did not have hot water.
- Bath towels left us covered in small white cotton fibers after using them to dry ourselves.
- 2 long creepy crawlers welcomed us in the bedroom.
- The bed did not have mosquito net, so we woke up with a few bites.
Positive points:
- Adjacent hindi restaurant is very good, authentic and with a caring chef.
- Since we were leaving quite early, they delivered breakfast to our villa.
Summary: I don't think I will repeat the experience.

Unimpressed
This hotel is poorly maintained. The shower drain backed up and almost overflowed in the bathroom. The shower head was so clogged up it sprayed everywhere. Their ad talks about hair dryers, but our room didn't have one. The downstairs bedroom smelled like mold. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The crowning blow was a power failure.

Downstairs rooms smell of mildew
We had three nights here between our hiking with gorillas and game park experiences in Rwanda. The first night was in room 2 which was a 2BR apt. It was dark and dank and smelled of mildew. For my second night I requested an upstairs room which they accomodaited however when returning for the third stay they again had me in room 2 and along with others in our group and we all refused to stay at the property. It was impossible to breathe and gave you terrible headaches. I would never recommend this property when there are so many nice places to stay in Kigali.

Breakfast staff ought to do better!
Visited for work, the rooms are very clean and very nice. The services were very good. However, the breakfast team do not seem prepared to serve. They first give you the look of what do you want before offering you the breakfast menu..you have to beg, beg for the coffee to come first. You have to call for their attention for everything. Not impressed! My colleague was offered the same Knife that fell off the table...the lady just wiped it with her napkin and handed it back to him. Ps; is it because we were the only black peeps for the day? We felt undervalued as customers. Everything else was okay. Ps. request room 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. these are designed in a very unique way. very spacious and give you a homelike feeling
