Great experience at Retaj Al Rayyan. Close to the beach, great ammenities like the spa and pool overlooking the sea. Most rooms have sea view (or the beautiful West Bay Skyline). Housekeeping was attentative - thank you Djaffer! The cafe downstairs was nice (Kareem was very helpful) with coffees, teas and fresh juices. The front desk was wonderful too, Samia helped us with a smile. I stayed a week and will be back soon! Very good experience overall. The management like Mohammed were also kind and always checking in. Highly recommend!

Exceptional stay with outstanding staff and great value

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is beautifully designed and perfectly located near the beach and local amenities. The atmosphere is relaxing, the surroundings are clean and inviting, and everything feels very convenient for both leisure and exploring the area. From the moment we arrived, the service was smooth, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
Several staff members truly made our stay memorable and deserve special recognition. Ali, our cleaner, did an excellent job every single day. The room was always spotless, well organised, and refreshed with care, his attention to detail really stood out.
Breakfast each morning was a pleasure thanks to Rizza and Yool, who greeted us with warm smiles and consistently attentive service. They created such a positive start to each day. And a huge thank you to chef Zakir Hussain, who prepared the most perfect fried eggs and omelettes, cooked exactly the way we liked them, every time. His consistency and skill made breakfast something we genuinely looked forward to.
At the front desk, Asad and Murad were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Whether it was answering questions, assisting with requests, or simply offering friendly conversation, they made everything feel easy and stress free. Their professionalism and kindness really added to the experience.
A special mention must go to NurBol, the front office manager. He was always genuinely interested in how our stay was going and regularly checked in to see if there was anything he could do to make it even better. His dedication to guest satisfaction is clear, and his thoughtful approach made us feel truly valued.
The rooms themselves are clean, comfortable, and spacious. While some of the furniture and room items feel a little dated and could benefit from small updates or maintenance, this did not take away from the overall comfort of the stay. The hotel still offers excellent value for money, especially considering the level of service and the prime location.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff made this visit special, and their hard work and hospitality deserve recognition. Highly recommended.

A place to sleep if you're sleeping soundly and have low aspirations for external aesthetics

An old tired "shalman" with mediocre bad food, no breakfast range, dull fruit - and then not always, old tired rooms, old breakable elevators. The staff are trying - but you can't save the holes in the old acrylic bathroom with a smile, old tired linens, grey towels, sad general furniture, zero soundproofing of cardboard walls... And in the suites, all the pache.
The pool is a six-person mini-trough in the eternal shadow. There's bottled water in the restaurant, glasses weren't always there, there's just no hot tea at dinner. In general - overstay for young people - roll the dice at night and basically walk until the moment when you need to fall back into bed.
Of the good things - location, nice mattresses but terrible pillows, fun profitrols for dessert, and a smile from the staff.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life.
The “towels” were dirty and stained, and the rooms were old, poorly maintained, and clearly not cleaned properly. Everything felt neglected and unhygienic. On top of that, the lighting in the room was terrible — very dim and uncomfortable, making the whole stay even more unpleasant.
The service was absolutely awful. The staff were unhelpful and indifferent, and the manager, Habib, was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of resolving issues, he made the situation worse.
The only positive thing about this place is the location, but even that cannot compensate for such a horrible experience.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. A complete disappointment and a waste of money.
