“A great place with a lot of potential - but the owners must first attend to some problems.”
Nice surroundings and seating areas outside. Spacious comfortable dining area. Staff were courteous.
As it is really in the middle of nowhere and with nothing to do/see around it suits travellers looking for a place to stop over not too far off the A2 highway.
The Bad:The following should be provided. A kettle with some tea and coffee, a box of tissues, a small bar fridge.
The heating did not work at all and staff were unable to fix that for us
The lighting in the internal stairwell was not operating properly and a key light at the top of the stairs was also not working making it dangerous to walk down the stairs. The plan of the hotel was unreadable due the previous mentioned light not working. This darkened hallway and stairwell is also the only 'Fire Escape'!
There is no lift and a lot of stairs to go up and down on the darkened stairwell.
The free internet connection provided was not 'Secure' giving the risk of theft of personal data.
Restaurant food, nice visual ideas on the plate but the food was really nothing special.. The bottle of wine I ordered with dinner was very overpriced for the quality.
The ugly. A bit more bad luck in the mid evening when a fuse blew in our room and we lost all the power points. Unable to use TV or PC, and it being cold in the room, we went to bed. Fortunately we are good sleepers so the loud music coming from the reception on the ground floor didn't keep us awake, long.
Breakfast was between 9 and 11am in the morning to suit the party goers still sleeping-in.
Apparently such receptions are a regular feature at the hotel so worth checking on that before you book!

Friendly but that kitchen smell!
Service friendly, breakfast good, but eggs and meat were still standing outside without cooling at 11:30. I would prefer some cooling when food is standing that long.
Rooms nice, bathrooms nice basic.
Rooms at the back can have issues with barking dogs during the night.
Several technical issues.
Power dropped out several times during the night. How noticed, the dam phone made noise every time the power came on. Solution, unplugged it from the charger.
No cold water during some time in the morning, difficult to shower with only hot water.
Last remark, the ventilation of the kitchen is not working, the smell of the kitchen filled the corridor and clothing smells for hours/days, not that nice on a business trip.
Restaurant dinner was good.
