Best of what is avaialable

Inadvertently stranded in Puerto Maldonado due to a plane breakdown and ended up spending a couple of nights here. Very basic but functional and clean. Reasonable provision for Covid and a surprisingly excellent breakfast.

A pretty basic hotel which I thought was overpriced for what it was…

A pretty basic hotel which I thought was overpriced for what it was.
Highlights were the air con and the rooms, and hotel itself was clean.
Low lights were the hotel is old, the service at reception is not helpful and the breakfast was not edible.
Would only stay here in desperate measures which it was with our flight being cancelled.

Visit to see friends

Our friends recommended this hotel because they know the owner and spend a great deal of time there. For Puerto Maldonado, this is good hotel. By the time we got to breakfast, it was cold and, even though we asked for the plates to be microwaved, it was still cold. Get there early for the breakfast buffet. There is air conditioning and hot water. We never had enough towels and had to ask for them. No one speaks English, but you have to remember that you are not really in a popular tourist spot in this part of Peru. The hotel restaurant leaves a lot to be desired and we were the only people in the restaurant one night. We did find a great pizza restaurant called El Hornito a short walk from the hotel.

Good place to stay

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel.
We arrived really early in the morning and we had the possibility to check-in at 8am. The room was big and clean.
They offer complete buffet breakfast on the roof of the hotel.
The hotel is 15 mins from the Plaza de Armas and tour operators.
The only negative point is that they use the worst exchange rate of all our trip in Peru.
