Great little hotel

Clean, friendly, nice breakfast, helpful staff. Kindly took out baggage and held it for a 4 night break between our visits whilst we were traveling in Canyon Colca. Offered help with taxis. It's a family-owned large place, so sometimes you have to wait a bit for someone to open the door for you, but it was no problem.

Fantastico

The owners Louis and Janet were very welcoming , lovely place to stay with comfortable rooms, buffet breakfast in the relaxing , quiet garden. Best value accommodation, surprisingly not expensive . View of city and surrounding mountains from rooftop seating area. Highly recommended

Outstanding service

The owner of this property literally bends over backwards to help you out. Super friendly and helpful. The location is a 10 minute taxi ride to town. Uber cost about 5 soles and a local taxi in town cost 7 soles to get back. Janet was horrified we were leaving before breakfast that she offered to get us a pizza for dinner but we had already eaten. She then got up at 5am and had a pack lunch waiting for us. We had stayed in Arequipa centre and it was much noisier than here. The view from the terrace is beautiful and her little garden for breakfast is very cute. Outstanding service and it's not a big deal to get taxis into the town.

Such a cozy and home-y place. Impeccable service!

I loved my stay at Casa Baraquel! It really felt like I was staying at a relative's friend. The staff is beyond accommodating and helpful. They let me hang my clothes dry, store my luggage while I went on a 2-day tour to Colca Canyon and helped me order food.
If you're looking for a place to relax in Arequipa, look no further. Casa Baraquel is in the residential area, so it's quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to Plaza de Armas (5 mins away, about 5-7 soles by taxi). Amazing breakfast in the garden as well.

Impeccable!

The service in this Incredibly well maintained and clean B&B is beyond expectation. The owner Janet and her son Louis go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have a natural interest in people and the personal approach is very heartwarming. In general people in Peru are very kind and helpful, but here they go a few steps further. The breakfasts are never the same but always delicious. If you have to visit Arequipa, go here!!
