would recommend as a cheap and safe place to stay in lima

Staff were very friendly and entertainment throughout the day and evenings was brilliant, would strongly recommend for solo travellers. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms weren't the best, however cleaned daily. Breakfast could have had more options as paid for it included and portions were very small.

Incredible experience with Karina. Horribly managed

The event organizer "Karina" is excellent at promoting a pleasant atmosphere for sharing, partying, and more. It is an excellent place to stay.
but... the manager does not run the hostel well. I suspect racism; I may take legal action...

A great stay!

I stayed for a couple of nights in a private room before starting my travels around Peru.
The room was simple but nice and had some nice touches including water.
Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant/bar has a great view over the park.
What made this hostel stand out was the customer service.
The staff on reception were so friendly and kind, always going above and beyond including helping me find my bus at 6am when they were on their way home!
Tour desk staff were also very helpful I did a foodie walking tour which I would definitely recommend.
The location is perfect for exploring Miraflores.
It was a bit noisy at night but this is well advertised as a party hostel, they provided ear plugs which meant I slept through the night.
Would stay again

We’re really happy to know Pariwana Lima was a great starting point for your travels around Peru. It’s nice to hear that you enjoyed the private room, breakfast, the view from the restaurant/bar, and our location in Miraflores.
Your words about the team mean a lot. Helping a guest find a bus at 6am is exactly the kind of detail that shows the care we want travelers to feel here. We’re also glad the tour desk helped you find a foodie walking tour worth recommending.
As you mentioned, Pariwana Hostels has a social atmosphere and can be lively at night, so we’re happy the ear plugs helped you rest well. Thanks for sharing such a balanced and kind review with future travelers.

Terrible Staff & Management – Avoid This Hostel and Its Restaurant

I had a very bad experience at the restaurant/bar of Pariwana Hostel Lima and it completely ruined my stay.
I ordered a juice that came with a paper straw which immediately started disintegrating and falling apart into my drink. For $5, this was ridiculous. I politely tried to explain the issue to the waiter Adrian and asked for another option (different straw or no straw).
Instead of helping, Adrian became aggressive and started acting like a tough guy, speaking to me in a very controlling and uncomfortable way. His English made the situation even worse. I asked for a different server because I didn’t like his attitude, but they refused.
When I escalated the complaint to the manager Daniel, things got much worse. He got violent in my face, threatened me, called me names, and mocked me. Both Adrian and Daniel kept cutting me off while I was trying to explain what happened and wouldn’t let me finish a single sentence. They claimed they saw everything on camera (which felt like a lie) and told me to “get the F out” and that I was banned from coming back.
As an autistic man, the way the staff belittled me, talked over me, and escalated over something so minor was extremely distressing. It felt like pure ego and bullying rather than any attempt to resolve the issue calmly. There were around 20 staff members around and nobody cared or tried to help.
Maybe I came across as rude in the heat of the moment, but the response from the staff was completely over the top and unprofessional.
Warning to other travelers: Walk an extra block and eat somewhere else. The staff here seem to have low tolerance and resort to intimidation instead of good service. Not recommended at all, especially if you expect basic respect.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry to read that your visit to our restaurant/bar left you feeling uncomfortable and distressed. This is not the type of interaction we want any guest to have at Pariwana Lima.
We take comments involving staff behavior very seriously, especially when a guest feels they were not listened to or treated with respect. Your review has been shared with our management team so the situation can be reviewed internally with the people involved and the available information from that shift.
At Pariwana Hostels, our goal is to offer a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for travelers. Even when there is a disagreement, the conversation should be handled calmly and professionally. We regret that this was not your perception and appreciate you bringing it to our attention, as it helps us reinforce service standards with the team.

Great location not the nicest staff

The hostel itself was located in the perfect area and the rooms and bathrooms were cleaned really regularly. I don’t feel the staff were overly friendly on reception it was very chaotic training volunteers and didn’t ask if I needed any advice or help around town on my first day would have been nice when prompted I got some help. The least helpful and friendly were the tour desk, two different staff members on either day and both as unfriendly and helpful as each other it was as if you were bothering them it wouldn’t hurt to smile.
There was lots of events happening for people to be able to mingle but sadly wanted more than drinking games. The sunset walk was a nice plan but to be honest it was wasn’t like an organised thing we just followed a staff member who was talking to another staff member not really caring about the group.
The entertainment staff and volunteers were very friendly however though on the top deck.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad you found Pariwana Lima well located and noticed the regular cleaning of rooms and bathrooms.
We’re sorry, however, that the service at reception and the tour desk did not feel as welcoming or proactive as it should have been. A friendly attitude and helpful guidance are an important part of the experience we want to offer, especially for guests arriving in a new city. We’ll review your comments with the teams involved, including how we support new volunteers without affecting the attention our guests receive.
We also appreciate your thoughts about the activities. Pariwana Hostels is a social hostel, but we understand that not every traveler is looking mainly for drinking games, and your feedback helps us keep improving the variety and organization of our events.
Thank you as well for recognizing the entertainment team and volunteers on the top deck. Your review gives us clear points to work on.
