Nice, quiet family hotel.

I stayed at the hotel with my wife, adult son, and 2 teenage daughters. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were extremely accommodating, and during the breakfast buffet actually hovered around and refilled glasses, removed bowls, etc. The rooms were clean and large, if a bit rundown. The hotel is about 5 blocks from the plaza, and is MUCH less expensive than comparable hotels, so it was great value. Not much more expensive than a hostel, but much more room, privacy, etc.

Room large, clean and neat. Simple breakfast, needs more variety. The attention of the Franco is highlighted.

Hotel is 10 min walk from Plaza de Armas and restaurants.
I had a reasonable stay at Hotel QarmenQa and leave my impressions balanced to help other travellers.
Positive points
• Large room: The room space is great, providing plenty of comfort during the stay.
• Cleaning and cleaning: The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable and I noticed great attention from the cleaning staff, always keeping everything organized.
Points to improve
• Bathroom: The box curtain does not prevent the shower water from wet the whole bathroom, causing some discomfort, and the toilet paper holder is very close to the shower, which causes the roll to get wet.
• Heater: The heater provided was insufficient to heat the room on the cold nights of Cusco.
• Noise every morning: In my window there was probably a kitchen extinguisher that was on every morning and made a lot of noise for several minutes. I believe the rooms in column 4 and 5 will have the same problem
Breakfast
The breakfast offered is quite simple and could be improved, especially including more options of breads and cakes to vary and better serve guests.
Attention
I highlight the excellent service of the Franco receptionist, who was very helpful both on our arrival and whenever we needed help during the nights. His attention made a positive difference in the stay

Terrible service, passport almost lost

I was put up in this hotel after a flight was cancelled and had an AWFUL time. We gave our passports for the front desk to copy and not even 30 minutes later they called our room saying one passport was not given to them, which is completely false. They barely tried looking for it and did not take us seriously until we said we were going to the police station to file a report so I could get back to Lima. They ended up finding it on the floor after being EXTREMELY unhelpful and repeatedly saying we had not given it to them. Afterwards, dinner was subpar and the room was fine.

Comfortable at a reasonable price

Stayed here August 2015 with a large group of 14 year old British school children at the start and end of our Peru expedition.
Rooms were above basic and beds were comfortable.
Staff were helpful and efficient.
There is a small lift, very useful for getting luggage up to rooms and people suffering from altitude symptoms.
Wifi downstairs and PC use available.
The Hotel is at the bottom of the hill opposite the Sun Temple. This means a walk up hill to the main part of the town taking between 20 minutes to half an hour depending on fitness and how you have adapted to the altitude. Don't stay here if you can't manage the hill.
Breakfast was a buffet and was limited in what was on offer. Some hot food, plenty available but not impressive in variety.
Building work next door woke us early, but wasn't a problem for us as we needed to get going elsewhere.
Overall, a good base for a low cost stop over, but if you are staying in Cusco for a few days and can afford it, I suggest opting for a hotel up hill, nearer the Centre.

Don't leave ANYTHING of value in your room!

While, at first site Q'Armenq'a is a nice hotel, centrally located and with a friendly staff, I left there feeling rather - for a lack of a better word, violated. If you do decide to stay in this hotel, beware of leaving anything at all of value in your room. I learned the hard way when I accidentally left my cell phone in a bag in the hotel room while traveling for the day in the Sacred Valley. It was well hidden in a pocket in one bag which was stuffed inside yet another bag. I shared the room with my parents and we all had luggage that was sorted through while we were away. Someone obviously went through great lengths to find what they were looking for. When I asked the staff about it I assumed they might be at least somewhat helpful. However, they were in complete denial over the incident and would not even ask other staff about it. While they had a chance to offer some consolation (maybe help write a police report) they did absolutely nothing to help. Of course I should have known better than to leave the phone in the room, and I let down my guard. Having said all of this, I must say that this 'bad apple will not spoil the bunch' for me. I love Peru and have been living and traveling there for several years, so it saddens me to write this less than edifying review. I hope only to warn you about this particular hotel and about the fact that petty theft continues to be a major problem in that Peru - especially in the tourist areas.

Very sad for what happened on that date, we regret everything that happened so it was decided to take all security measures such as security cameras in many places of hotel and get a quality staff well trained and skilled, so that for this way our guests feel safe, comfortable and a holder of hospitality.

Very good location
