Stay very much in the Casa Andina style
Date of visit: August 2026
Length of stay: 3 nights
Trip type: Couple's trip
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ / 5
Casa Andina Select Chiclayo maintains its traditional location, very close to the Parque Infantil, in the former Hotel de Turistas, a property that has now been remodeled and restored by the Casa Andina group.
LOCATION
Its location is convenient for getting around Chiclayo and remains in the place where the Hotel de Turistas historically operated.
️ CHECK-IN
The process was quite agile. The front desk has a good portion of the information pre-printed, which facilitates registration.
However, we found one aspect that Casa Andina should review: upon arrival, payment for the accommodation was prioritized, but we were not reminded to leave a deposit for incidental charges. This subsequently forced us to pay for every purchase made at the restaurant.
We also tried the web pre-check-in system sent previously by email. Its presentation is user-friendly, but we had problems uploading our identity documents: the system indicated that the information had been uploaded correctly, but it was ultimately not registered.
What does deserve special mention is the kindness and willingness of the reception staff, who were always attentive to our requests.
️ ROOM AND BATHROOM
The bathroom is very well equipped, clean, and properly maintained, with very good towels.
We did, however, find some safety details that would be worth improving. The tub can be quite slippery and does not have a non-slip surface, although it does have a steel grab bar.
There is also a step between the room and the bathroom. Although it is distinguished by a molding, more visible signage would be advisable to prevent tripping.
HOUSEKEEPING
Very good. The room was kept properly serviced, and we especially appreciated that it is possible to coordinate a cleaning schedule in advance.
SERVICE
In general, all the staff were very attentive and friendly. The influence of the management is clearly perceived, as well as that characteristic that identifies Casa Andina: closeness, cordiality, and a willingness to help.
BREAKFAST INCLUDED
Up to the standard we expect from a Casa Andina Select.
We found a good supply of fruit, hot drinks, made-to-order eggs, a variety of breads, cheeses, and some cold cuts. We did not find a great variety of hot dishes during our stay, although on weekends they offer Chiclayo-style fried food, a nice touch to incorporate some local gastronomy.
But if there is one thing we really want to highlight, it is the attention from the restaurant team. Vanessa and Mayeli made us feel especially well taken care of, always attentive to any additional requirements.
To them and the entire restaurant team, our gratitude for making these three days a particularly pleasant and lasting memory of our stay.
The dining room is spacious and shares space with the restaurant, with climate-controlled indoor environments and also outdoor areas.
️ GASTRONOMY
The menu combines Creole cuisine with some fusion proposals. It does not seek to be overly sophisticated, but it presents a well-thought-out selection. It includes options for children, desserts, and snacks, making it practical for both a full meal and something light.
FACILITIES
The facilities are prepared to accommodate guests with reduced mobility.
It includes parking in the reservation. It does not have a free airport shuttle, although this service can be coordinated through the front desk for an additional cost.
Among its facilities, we find a pool on the first floor, large areas designated for events, a spa, massages, and a sauna.
The Wi-Fi worked correctly, and access is granted using your last name and room number.
A particularly positive point is the layout of the hotel: the rooms are separated from the common and event areas, which allows for a very quiet and restful stay.
CHECK-OUT
As agile as the check-in. The pre-printed information allows for a quick departure.
⭐ OUR RATING
4.5/5
A hotel that offers a solid and pleasant experience, with renovated facilities, a good breakfast, comfortable rooms and, above all, a staff that makes the difference.
The aspects we pointed out—pre-check-in, a deposit for incidentals, and some safety details in the bathroom—are opportunities for improvement that, once corrected, could elevate the experience even further.
Our methodology: our assessment is based on a real experience as guests or diners. We evaluate each establishment considering what really matters to the traveler: location, comfort, cleanliness, gastronomy, service, facilities, and value for money.
ESTILO JAR HOTEL — we travel, we get to know, and we share our experience.

Will try not to stay here again
I arrived around 10:00 AM and completely understood that my room would not be ready that early. I waited until about 2:00–3:00 PM for check-in, which was fine. However, when my colleagues and I checked in together, they all received their rooms immediately, while I had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The front desk agent kept calling over the radio to ask if a room was available, and the only acknowledgment I received was a quick "sorry," with no real explanation.
The biggest disappointment came when I finally entered my room. It had a very strong cigarette odor. It was obvious the hotel was aware of the issue because a large amount of air freshener had been used, but it did nothing to mask the smell. I had to return to the front desk and request another room. Surprisingly, I didn't receive an apology—only a "thank you for letting us know, we'll move you to another room."
For a hospitality business, I expected much better customer service and a more sincere response to these issues.
On a positive note, the restaurant was excellent. The food and drinks were outstanding and were easily the highlight of my stay.
