Comfortable Place

We had the place to ourselves which made it better for us. The place was clean although far from soundproof. Fortunately the location was not too noisy. As far as albergue-like accommodations go, this was just fine. The price was very reasonable as well.

Comfortable

We had a double room which was available when we arrived at 6am and we were allowed check-in which was nice. Friendly staff, they give information about the local area. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was reasonably clean, but the showers weren't great. They are electric and you do get hot water, but not great pressure and there's no where to hang the shower head. It would be nice to have more hooks for hanging clothes. The hostel is a small house and the owners live on the next street. There is no reception area, if you want anything you have to walk over to the next street and ring a bell. The laundry service was good, and the wifi was good when it worked. The kitchen was adequate. There were not many people there at the time but it would get quite crowded if the hostel was full. Location is good, quiet but near a market and not far from the centre.

Dirty!

We stayed 3 nights there. They have 2 different houses (each with dormitory and provate rooms). The main one seems better but is also more expensive. They offered us to stay in the 2nd one, that is more creaky. Nobody came to clean the bathrooms and the common areas for the whole time (and it was already dirty when we arrived). I had to ask to the owner to clean at least the bathrooms on the 3rd day and then they finally clean it.
The kitchen seems well equipped but most of the things are not working (for example oven and microwave )!!!
For the (medium-high) price they are asking it's not worth to come here...

Not great

Got a double room which was spacious but hair all over the bed and certainly wasn't ours. Didn't seem the sheets were cleaned. Bathroom was also dirty, and no one ever seemed around. To check in, check out and to find towels or ask a questions owners never there. Saw them only twice. Took 40 min to find someone to get towels. Bags laying everywhere with no reception desk whatsoever. Made me feel someone could walk out with my bag very easily. People sleeping on the couches and just not a great vibe. Wouldn't stay there again.

Very cozy

This was the only Hostal in Cajamarca. The staff were actually the owners who gave you suggestions about things to do. They were super helpful and always making sure that the people in the Hostal were taken care of and safe.
They were such nice people who exemplify what hospitality should be.
The rooms were not so nice and the beds were very creaky which led to some slightly uncomfortable situations if it was necessary to wake up at the middle of the night because you always end up waking up person beneath you.
Overall a good place considering the owners are so nice and willing to help you out if you have problems or have questions. I would stay here again.

Very good location
