Our second home.

Bristol has become our “go to” hotel in Oslo. It has simply become our 2nd home. We love this hotel and enjoy every second here. The rooms are clean and nice.
Breakfast is world-class.
Can't get said enough positive about the hotel, love to come here.

Room is very well appointed. All you need. Except a water bottle and a decent hair dryer. No water in mini bar too which was odd. But then again maybe it wasn’t ’loaded’ into the room?! Carpet in room. Really could do with an update. The picture for the room type had wooden floors hence why I went with it but to be fair there were other pictures with carpets in it too. It’s just so dated and unclean looking.
Tv wasn’t ‘loaded’ with any content. Could not access any tv channels except an Art placeholder loop and a ‘how to’ connect your own device. Reason I went to the tv as there was no room service menu nor was there a mini bar price list to be seen anywhere despite the little card saying look in the directory. I asked reception as I also couldn’t find where to order breakfast to the room. To be honest, they laughed it off, where it was annoying for me, I didn’t feel that their only solution was to laugh it off and say oh well was an appropriate response.
The hair dryer was a real let down. You go to the bother of staying in a nice hotel only for one of those 1star hairdryers stuck to the wall. It was on for 10seconds only to never work again. Mentioned to reception they said they would address it but failed to do so over the course of the day. I asked at reception again and they sent a mini hairdryer to the room. Do better on the hairdryers please. A man must have the power on this as a woman would never provide such low powered hairdryers.
Breakfast was great.

To avoid!

As soon as we arrive at the hotel immediately the first disappointment, the attempt by the reception will assign us one of the two rooms provided, practically not compliant with the reservation. Unlivable room for micro sizes. Subsequently clarified the fact, we were assigned two modest-sized rooms with very small bathrooms. Very annoying in the room you can not turn off the flow of air h24 annoying, as the noisy minibar. Positive note, fantastic bed. As for the breakfast definitely buffet of vast dimensions, but monotonous in the proposal never changed in 5 days. Very annoying, the persistent egg smell in the breakfast dishes, so little attention to cleanliness in general. More than an emblazoned 5 star it was a stay at a hotel that does mass and not quality. Tip: know that the other hotels in the historic center, which certainly have much lower costs, are exactly as central as the bristol. Ultimately I would not recommend it and was disappointed.

Dear Fearless12305602084!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay with us.
We are sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand how disappointing it must have been to encounter confusion regarding your room assignment upon arrival, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused. While our rooms vary in size and layout, we always strive to ensure that guests receive the accommodation category they have reserved.
We also regret to hear that you found the room and bathroom dimensions unsatisfactory, and that the ventilation system and minibar affected your comfort. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams for review and consideration.
Regarding breakfast, we appreciate your observations. While we are pleased that you recognized the extensive selection offered, we are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. During your stay, breakfast was served in an alternative location due to the temporary renovation of our Bristol Grill restaurant. We are delighted to share that Bristol Grill will reopen on 19 August 2026, and breakfast service has now returned to its usual setting. We have also noted your comments regarding the variety of the buffet and the cleanliness of the tableware, as maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene is extremely important to us.
At the same time, we are delighted that you enjoyed the comfort of our beds, which is something many of our guests particularly appreciate.
Best Regards

A jewel at the heart of Oslo

I vacationed in Norway for a week and spent the first leg in Oslo. I'm not too picky so snagged a room at the Bristol because it was incredibly well priced.
The room was comfortable, quiet, and helped me rest. Guest services were actually helpful, giving me advice on an outstanding cocktail bar to visit, arranging transport and teaching me about the city. They even provided a power adapter for my US plug, urging me not to go out and buy one. Housekeeping was efficient and seamless.
The Spa is phenomenal. I'm a frequent spa-goer in the USA and the facility at the Bristol would be priced three to four times as much Stateside. Finishings are elegant, the hot-cold pool/sauna suite is wonderful, and the main pool area is true to the pictures you see on their website. The concierge Paulina was incredibly helpful and welcoming, giving me a tour spontaneously. I booked a massage, and the therapist (I am truly sorry I forgot her name, but for reference the massage was on August 15 at 11am) was the most skilled I have had, incorporating movement and stretching in unique ways. There isn't really a tipping culture here from what I gathered but I felt compelled to tip because it was one of the best massages I've ever had. The hotel is fortunate to have her!
Location is prime, close to all the shops, transport access points etc. Close enough to everything that I did more walking than was expecting and loved it - Oslo central is very walkable!
Breakfast: Holy Mary Mother of God what a delight. Fresh, tasteful, great selection between vegetables and meats, coffee that tastes intentionally brewed not mixed from some powder, and a beautiful space to sit down, unwind and start your day.
I'll be returning to Norway soon and the Bristol will be where I will stay. I cannot recommend the establishment enough.
