Approved.

Hotel convenient for its location and well-connected, with small rooms and bathrooms but very comfortable beds and showers. Excellent breakfast, kind staff, and good cleanliness. We also had a nice view from the room. Parking right outside the hotel door, very expensive but useful. The neighborhood is not disreputable, it's just that a couple of blocks away there is a facility that helps people with addictions, so it can happen that you meet someone not in perfect condition, but without it being a problem.

It is okay.

The hotel is okay. Well located. The breakfast buffet is good. The accessibility for people with disabilities could be improved.

Ridiculous clean policy! Substandard customer service!

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. During our stay, housekeeping refused to clean the bathroom, including the shower, floor, and basin. When we raised this with reception, we were told that rooms are only fully cleaned after guests check out.
In all my years of travel, across hotels of every category—from budget accommodations to higher-end properties—I have never encountered a policy like this. Basic bathroom cleaning during a guest’s stay should be a standard part of hotel housekeeping, not something reserved exclusively for checkout.
I understand it’s a budget hotel without a phone, fridge, equipped with non-working aircon, non-working body wash dispenser and one flat pillow for each guest,) This level of service is unacceptable and falls well below reasonable expectations for hotel cleanliness and guest care. Refusing to clean bathrooms during a guest’s stay is simply not what most travellers would expect when booking a hotel.

Well located hotel

I enjoyed my stay at the Anker. However, there was no ventilation in my room or AC. As you open the windows, no screens were observed to prevent the bugs from coming in. What was upseting during my stay was the extremely small shower. I am 6'0 tall 200 lbs and I could not wash my lower legs when the glass doors were shut.
The highlight of the time there was the very good breakfast buffy which had pretty much anything and was very fresh. The staff was very courteous.

The price-quality ratio is just fine.

I'll start by saying that it is not the choice for those looking for the best hotel in Oslo.
It is an excellent choice for those looking for a good price-quality ratio.
And not only because it is a 10-minute walk from the central station and a few minutes from the center. In fact, the breakfast is very appreciable (very high selection of savory items, good selection of sweet items), as are the prices (low compared to the Oslo average), as is the warm welcome at the reception (available to print the boarding pass for the return flight).
Spacious room, very basic bathroom, possibility to request a view of the city.
The only aspect to pay attention to: I recommend taking Torgata street to get to the hotel and not Storgata. They are two parallel streets but the second one is not well-frequented. You won't happen to be mugged, you are safe even on Storgata but there are obvious uncomfortable situations (people on the street).
