Enjoyed our stay at Anker, convenient location comfortable beds. No tea, coffee or bottled water in the room and no fridge. Would stay there again.

It is okay.

The hotel is okay. Well located. The breakfast buffet is good. The accessibility for people with disabilities could be improved.

Ridiculous clean policy! Substandard customer service!

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. During our stay, housekeeping refused to clean the bathroom, including the shower, floor, and basin. When we raised this with reception, we were told that rooms are only fully cleaned after guests check out.
In all my years of travel, across hotels of every category—from budget accommodations to higher-end properties—I have never encountered a policy like this. Basic bathroom cleaning during a guest’s stay should be a standard part of hotel housekeeping, not something reserved exclusively for checkout.
I understand it’s a budget hotel without a phone, fridge, equipped with non-working aircon, non-working body wash dispenser and one flat pillow for each guest,) This level of service is unacceptable and falls well below reasonable expectations for hotel cleanliness and guest care. Refusing to clean bathrooms during a guest’s stay is simply not what most travellers would expect when booking a hotel.

Nice breakfast, terrible guest service.

The hotel was adequate. The rooms were sparse and the showers were terrible. The breakfast was delicious and absolutely the only redeeming feature. Our biggest issue was a discrepancy among front desk personnel. When we checked in, the guest associate assured us that the hotel would be happy to store one suitcase while we traveled Norway. We were scheduled to return to the Anker hotel on our last night in Norway before flying home. That made us quite happy and we enjoyed our stay in Oslo. When we checked out, the guest associate said that it would not be possible for them to store the suitcase. We argued with the manager who said it was against hotel policy. Honestly, I was surprised when the first staff member agreed to hold the suitcase for six days, but I thought that was a fantastic service. If they had told us originally that it wasn't possible, we would have had several days to make other arrangements. To change the service at the last minute was disruptive to our vacation. The manager did not care that the first employee had offered the service. His name was Jensen, and he was very disrespectful and rude to us upon our check out. If you are looking for an amazing breakfast, and if you don't need any special guest services, this hotel is fine. If you are looking for staff interested in enhancing your vacation, I do not recommend the Anker hotel in Oslo. In any case, avoid Jensen if possible. He is not interested in your satisfaction.

I am very disappointed with my experience regarding the parking at this hotel.
A hotel employee asked me to move my car from the outdoor parking lot to the indoor parking garage, explaining that both parking areas belonged to the hotel. I followed the instructions exactly as given, driving directly from the outdoor lot to the indoor garage.
To my surprise, I was charged for two separate parking days (NOK 420 each) simply because I moved the car as instructed by the hotel staff. At no point was I informed that changing parking locations would result in an additional full parking charge.
Had this been clearly explained, I would never have moved the vehicle. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and left me feeling misled. I expected much better communication and customer service from the hotel.
I hope the hotel reviews this situation and refunds the unfair extra parking charge.
