Featuring 4-star accommodation, Hostel is set in Granada, 24 km from Mirador de Catarina and 30 km from Volcan Masaya. The property is non-smoking and is situated 19 km from Volcan Mombacho. All rooms will provide guests with a microwave.

Great stay
Our group of three spent 6 nights in The Townhouse Hostel on a recent trip to Granada. We had a really good time but I can see how this place might not be for everyone.
Here are a few things to consider if you’re thinking of staying here.
* PARTY HOSTEL - This place is a party hostel. Its sister hostel is The Treehouse Hostel which is located at the base of mombacho and has a well known reputation for throwing parties until the early hours of the morning. At the time we visited (low season) The Treehouse hostel wasn’t doing its traditional Friday parties and I think this market was being filled by townhouse. That being said the parties were a lot of fun. Of the 6 nights we stayed they only had 2 parties, on wednesday and Saturday. They did go until about 4 in the morning. It is worth noting on the other 4 nights we were here this place was very quiet, with the only noise being that of the sandbar which is located next door.
* VALUE - We had a private triple with shared bathroom and this cost around 28US a night for 3 including breakfast. This price point was significantly cheaper than other hotels in Granada.
* SECURE - There is a locked metal door that you get buzzed in and out of by the staff. Someone was always around reception to let us in. In addition to that the room had bolts on the doors and you are given a padlock to further secure the room.
* FRIENDLY STAFF - The staff here were a real highlight. They have 2-3 Nicaraguan staff who are friendly but dont speak english. They do a really good job of keeping the hostel clean. They also have around 2-3 english speaking volunteers who stay in the hostel and man the bar, DJ set, etc. Kayan (probably spelt his name wrong sorry) is most likely to be the one still there at the time of your visit.
* LOCATION is excellent. Its a short walk to the central park and within walking distance of most of the centrally located restaurants and other hostels.
* BREAKFAST PROVIDED - Between 8-10am. They rotate between pancakes and omelettes. Coffee also provided.
* TOURS AVAILABLE - These can be booked at the front reception to all the major places (Masaya Volcano, Laguna de Apoyo, Islets of Granada). They use the promotional material of Buena tours with the same pricing, but the tours seem to happen with a company called Centro Tours. Its a bloke in his Camry who drives you around. To be honest the experience is exactly the same as what you would get with Buena so we did a few tours with them.
* LAUNDRY SERVICE - They provide one on site but it was quite expensive ($1USD a pound) and I wasn’t particularly happy with the quality of the wash so wouldn’t recommend using this.
* WIFI - Available but the internet attached was pretty patchy and would constantly drop out.
* NO HOT WATER - Showers are cold but its pretty hot in granada so this wasnt a problem. Also there are no private bathrooms, but 4 shared bathrooms. These are cleaned daily in the morning by the staff.
* FANS PROVIDED for rooms
* NO WATER REFILL STATION - This does seem like an oversight but there isn’t a water refill station here just tap water so we did end up having to purchase quite a lot of water from the convenience store.
* POOL and BAR - Pool definitely isn’t as alluring as the photos make it out to be but its a reasonable temperature and was kept relatively clean for the duration of our stay. They also have a bar which is stocked with beers, Selzas, fresca, soft drinks and basic spirits. You can set up a tab and pay it at the end of your stay.
* SHARED KITCHEN available.
Overall we had a enjoyable stay here and given the minimal cost I really don’t think you can expect perfection. I think it’s a decent option to stay for people that are sociable and looking for a good time but if you’re more of a introvert wanting peace and quiet its probably not going to be your vibe.

The worst hostel in Granada?
My room was dirty and not as pictured or described. There was no seating area or bedside table. The fridge in the kitchen was broken. There are also very few things that you usually find at a good hostel, such as a water refill station. On the second night, employees at the hostel were partying until 3 AM. I was only able to sleep for a few hours. When I tried to request my money back for the second night the lady refused. I stayed there for about a half an hour trying to get her to refund me but she didn't believe me. She said the employees said there was no music, which is a lie and when I told her they were lying, she didn't believe me. Avoid this place at all costs. There are dozens of nicer places in Granada with similar prices. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Great vibe, friendly multilingual staff, good value
I recently stayed at the townhouse several times over a 2 week trip to Nicaragua. I had a dorm room which was kept tidy and had numerous ceiling and portable fans although they weren't required during my stay as the nights were pleasant. I noticed private rooms available as well. Breakfast is included and alternates on different days.
Great place to relax with a pool next to bar which also hosted some live music while i was there. If you get a chance the trip to the tree house is well worth it with a rave on Friday evenings or a really cool spot to hand out during the week.
There is a mix of staff speaking numerous languages. Not knowing spanish it was handy with several staff members speaking english. These guys are really helpful organising day tours, cruises and taxis at rates better than I could get elsewhere.
For less than $10 this place would be hard to beat!

amazing hostel, lovely people
We stayed at townhouse for 4 nights and we enjoyed our time so much !! the owner brought his Australian vibe that helped to connect a lot with the people. such a great vibes, very sociable hostel. If you want to have fun this is definitely the place, there are free shuttle to join an other hostel where there are some open Mic, party every Friday... thank you, we had the best time so far in Nicaragua there !

Great time
One of the best time I spent. The owners were nice and under 10.00 dollars and breakfast was free good price and the bar was stocked with booze and beer of many delight .Breakfast was free and just enough to get started. To find a place for lunch
