Good.

Excellent hotel, simple, but very clean room and sanitary facilities. Very friendly and service oriented owner. Breakfast was fine, there were eggs fried for us. Private parking space. We will definitely be back.

Although the hotel was in a good location and had free parking , a nice room and an adequate breakfast. Unfortunately our 1 night stay was spoilt with the fact that on our arrival the hotel was completely locked up. Check in stated it was from 3pm and we arrived at half past.
After ringing the proprietor, she arrived after half an hour to let us in.
Our next problem was over the price we paid . Our offer included a free breakfast ,but the lady argued that we hadn't paid enough. So she rang Expedia to complain. So we had to sit and wait about another hour before we were given the key to our room. But at least we were told that we were entitled to a free breakfast.
We still had to settle the bill for city tax which states is €2 35 each. But we didn't receive any change from a 10€ note.
As it took over 90mins to check in , it meant that we had very little time to visit the lovely centre of valkeburg before the attractions closed.
I certainly wouldn't visit again due to the owners bad attitude. Although I must say, the girl who served breakfast was lovely.

Simple

A hotel that clearly needs a revamp!

Needs cheering ip

This hotel is clean enough... spotless, but the decor is bland and very boring. Needs to move into modern times a few basic touches here and there would vastly improve it
The bedrooms adequate and again a bit of sparkle needed
The dining room clean and tidy
The lady and Gentleman that run the hotel need to up their game in the customer service skills Dept. they have no knowledge of the local bus service or trains... all the tourist info they have in the reception is Dutch... so a little help would have gone a long way
And the silver kitchen bins on each floor landing

A fine place to stay but not excellent

The overall experience was ok. One a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this place a 5. The room was comfortable but the floor was filthy, and the room had a faint sewage smell. The shower door leaked and the floor of the bathroom flooded. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were not. The proprietors did a very good job with breakfast. It was timely and delicious, while still a simple meal. They had bread, meat, cheese, boiled eggs, spiced danish bread, and a wide variety of spreads to put on the bread. The coffee was good as well. The owners are wonderfully kind people and that means a lot. The hotel has its own parking lot which is useful since other areas rely on street parking. It is a 10 minute walk from the old city and near there are a dozen places to eat within 15 minutes. If this was the only place open I would stay there again, but if I went back to Valkenburg I would first look for another place to stay.

Very good location
