The Ideal Hostel

Whe certain other websites always seem to review mediocre hostels as "fabulous" and "superb" this one really is. This is most professionally run hostel I have ever stayed in. The highest quality staff who get the mix right between accommodating and kind but without lowering their standards. All other hostel staff could come here and learn something. Exceptional.

Not worth the money spent

Great location near the beautiful Central Station, in front of a modern buildingCalypso, close to a great supermarket. Great welcome, very helpful in the indications. Kitchen, relaxation area and reception all together, in a single environment,, not the max , but x what concerns me I only passed there. The big disappointment are the beds(12) rooms exploited to the max with the result of exaggeratedly narrow spaces, 2 bathrooms also very small, 2 showers acceptable in size, nothing x hang, not a mirror in the room. A similar situation should have at least required a cost adequate to the little there was,,instead I never paid a hostel 70 € per night,,it is worth half not more. I often travel to the hostel, this was the absolute most disappointing value for money. Rotterdam is a beautiful city ❣️
Often the photos they put are made with deceptive angles that give a wrong idea about the reality of the spaces.

Great first hostel experience

First experience staying in a hostel and Sparks certainly made me feel more comfortable about the whole experience. Stayed in a 6-bed female only dorm. Best feature was the beds which feel very private. Bathroom and shower were pretty clean and clean towels were provided every day.
Reception staff were very friendly and available 24/7.
Lockers are a really good size, could fit my suitcase easily along with my backpack. I brought my own padlock for the locker but reception provide keyed padlocks if you don't have one.
Only cons were that the first set of stairs are very narrow and could be a trip hazard if you're not careful (can't really be helped with the style of building) and that the doors are quite loud when closing so we could hear doors opening and closing of other dorms. Those definitely didn't ruin the experience though.

The Best !!!

Spark Hostel Rotterdam – I didn’t want to leave (seriously, I considered hiding in the laundry room)!
From the moment I walked in, I thought, “Okay… this place sparks joy!” The staff? Too nice. Like, suspiciously nice. Are they trained in kindness or just born that way?
The beds were so comfy I almost skipped exploring Rotterdam — why leave when you’ve got a 5-star nap experience? The kitchen had everything, except maybe a personal chef (but hey, that’s asking too much). And don’t even get me started on how CLEAN everything was — I’ve seen hospitals less sterile.
The vibe? Chill but fun. Like a Netflix show you didn’t expect to binge but suddenly it’s 3 a.m. and you’re emotionally invested.
10/10 would stay again. And if they ever let me move in permanently… I won’t say no.

Nice Hostel

A good choice for solo traveler, bunk bed had a good privacy and you can had your phone charged. A free towel and a large locker which fits for a 20 inches baggage. Remember to bring a personal lock. Before 11am coffee was free and afterwards one dollar euro for each. 7.5 euro for a breakfast or you can use the kitchen to cook your own. Easy walk to Rotterdam Central Station. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.
